Webcon has just released a new inlet manifold to enable a Weber DGV, DGAS or a Webcon Retroject Throttle Body to be fitted to the popular VW Golf 1.6 and 1.8 engines.

The manifold can be ordered as part number MM0067 and retails at £199 incl. VAT making it an economical way to upgrade the 1.6/1.8 engines to Weber carburation or modern electronic fuel injection.

for carburettor equipped cars without a return fuel line

Bad hot starting can be the result of pressure build-up in the fuel feed line of a carburettor equipped car, causing the carburettor to flood either during hot soak or whilst cranking.

Some manufacturers addressed this problem by fitting a fuel return line to the tank. However, this is a cumbersome solution for owners of cars without this feature as it involves making irreversible modifications to the car. Luckily Webcon has the answer.

Webcon’s Fuel Line Pressure Relief Kit provides extra fuel hose, clips and two tee pieces, (one with a valve and one without) to install a by-pass loop in the feed pipe that bleeds excess pressure build up from the system.

Installation involves just cutting the fuel feed pipe before and after the fuel pump and inserting the by-pass hose via the tee pieces. Solving a hot starting problem really is as simple as that. The kit contains a length of fuel hose, six hose clamps, two tee pieces and illuystrated instructions. The kit is available with 8mm i.d. hose (Part HSK001) or 6mm I.D. hose (Part HSK002) and retails at £18.99 plus VAT.

Mini Spares can now offer a quality replacement 7.5 gallons/34 litres capacity fuel tank that
fits Mini saloons from 1974 until the end of the carburettor models.

This replicates the tanks first fitted to 1275GT cars with 12″ wheels in 1974 and to all Mini saloons from 1980 on.

The tank is retained by the single strap across the centre (also available from Mini Spares as 21A2838). The fuel level sender unit fixing is the twist and turn type. The neck does not have a restrictor in it for lead free petrol-pump nozzles, but is the only tank available for pre-injection Minis.
