First Hybrid Vehicle with ABT Power

Petrol engine in Q5 TFSI e boosted to 310 hp – 425 hp system power
A quick glance at the data sheet reveals the unexpected: The SQ5 with the powerful diesel engine is not the hardest hitter in the Q5 team. This badge of honour is worn by the 55 TFSI e quattro, which boasts a system performance of 367 hp (270 kW) and 500 Nm. This cutting edge, plug-in hybrid vehicle combines a four-cylinder petrol engine with 252 hp (185 kW) and 370 Nm with an electric motor. Thanks to the new performance upgrade from ABT Sportsline*, the combustion engine now achieves 310 hp (228 kW) and 420 Nm. When combined with the standard electric motor, an impressive system performance of 425 hp (313 kW) and 550 Nm is achieved. “For us, this Q5 represents a real first. Nevertheless, this SUV is our first hybrid vehicle”, says CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt. Incidentally, from a dynamic driving perspective, the hybrid Q5’s lower centre of gravity has a positive impact: The battery is located in a low position and therefore successfully compensates for the high design. For the 50 TFSI e, the same ABT Power performance upgrade is available. As a standard, the identical combustion engine is combined with a slightly weaker electric motor. Thus, the new system power only amounts to 357 hp (263 kW) instead of 299 hp (229 kW), while the maximum torque rises from 450 to 500 Nm.
As far as alloy wheels are concerned, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW and Audi Group settled on the two-colour design ABT GR in 20-inch for the Q5 55 TFSI e. Here, a glossy black wheel chassis contrasts with a diamond-machined rim flange. The sporty and elegant wheel is also available as an alternative in matt black with an entirely diamond-machined surface. Both options share the same design characteristic of a deep concave rim base. However, the ABT GR is not just a pretty face. Its fine balance also contributes to optimum handling.
Furthermore, the Bavarian company also offers attractive details for the interior. Alongside ABT integrated entrance lights with logo projection, the latest additions include the start-stop switch cap and shift knob cover. ABT SQ7 Aero package wide body – 510 hp, 22-inch and interior options

The new Audi SQ7 is a SUV that effortlessly conceals its weight when it comes to driving performance and agility. More than ever before, the car magazines share the same opinion. And when the recently introduced performance upgrade from ABT Sportsline comes into play, you think you really are in a sports car – albeit just a little higher up. In order to correctly showcase this kudos-creating vehicle in a larger format, the Bavarian company now offer the ABT Aero package wide body. The set includes an aggressively designed front skirt add-on, fender extensions, door strip attachments, rear skirt add-on and an end pipe cover set. A slim body kit version without fender extensions is available as an option. SQ7 owners can also order additional options available, such as ABS plastic or carbon fibre ABT rear wing or fender inserts
When an upgraded SQ7 like this glides into your rear-view, you quickly realise that it is not a standard model. In most cases, customers may have also taken advantage of the performance upgrade ABT Power*. A high-tech control unit helps to boost the standard 435 hp (320 kW) and 900 Nm to an enormous 510 hp (375 kW) and 970 Nm. In addition, ABT Sound Control is available for models with factory-fitted Active Sound Systems, to create an especially charismatic vehicle sound.
A road-filling vehicle like this also deserves a set of formidable alloy wheels. So ABT sports wheels are available exclusively in 22-inch, but with three exciting designs to choose from. For example, the Sport GR, in glossy or matt black, with its diamond machined elements. A unique option is the HR Aero in dark smoke with its distinctive aero ring. The third option is the flowforming high-performance wheel HR-F in shadow silver or dark smoke. As always, individual combinations of extras and performance components can be assembled with the ABT Configurator.
The world’s largest tuner of Audi and VW vehicles also offers new interior components for the SQ7. New additions are ABT dashboard covers and seat frame cover panels with carbon trim. Recent introductions include the ABT start-stop switch cap with illuminated logo and ABT integrated entrance lights.

Special Limited Edition ABT RS6-R – super agile with 740 hp

Once again, Audi have created the perfect synergy of the sports car and touring estate with the latest RS 6. Each new RS generation is accompanied by new developments. The latest edition is the first to feature optional all-wheel steering. This reduces the turning circle and at speeds above 100 km/h, the rear wheels steer to aid stability. ABT Sportsline is delighted to work with this excellent foundation and is transforming 125 Audi RS 6 into the special limited edition ABT RS6-R.
The core of the ABT RS6-R package is the ABT Power R performance upgrade, which unleashes an extremely sporty 740 hp (544 kW) and 920 Nm in the 4.0-litre V8 TFSI engine. This means an increase of 140 hp (103 kW) and 120 Nm over the standard model. Of course, as a special limited edition, the ABT RS6-R also demands visual enhancement. The Bavarian company has developed high-quality ABT Aerodynamics carbon body components, which give the RS6-R’s front in particular a much more aggressive and striking appearance. The package includes among other things, an ABT frontlip and front grille frame add-onrear skirt add-onside skirt attachments and fender inserts. The tuners have made ten interior components available. As such, the ABTleather and carbon finish for the steering wheel is both sporty and luxurious. The limited quantity of the RS6-R is immortalised in the ABT door sills (1 of 125) in the door frame. At the rear, the stainless steel ABT exhaust system with 4 carbon endpipes emphasises the sporty character of the vehicle. This is further underlined by the weight-optimised 22-inch ABT High Performance HR. These wheels are manufactured via a flowforming process and come into their own in combination with the ABT suspension programme. The RS 6 has been praised by the automotive press for its superb handling characteristics. ABT coilover suspension springs and sports anti-roll bars add the finishing touches. www.abt-sportsline.com/limited-editions/abt-rs6-r
An optional, enhanced ABT interior package is also available, comprising carbon dashboard covers and seat frame covers and 22-inch ABT HR Aero wheels.

Lorinser changes complete range to revolutionary PowerModule

The German vehicle tuner Sportservice Lorinser is entering a completely new era of performance boosts in 2020. “The range will not be expanded or replaced gradually, though. We are basically exchanging our entire portfolio in one go,” Managing Director Marcus Lorinser explains proudly. One look at the Lorinser website reveals that the mission has been successful. The spectrum in the Configurator is enormous and ranges from A-Class to X-Class, from the E-Class station wagon to the Sprinter, from the sporty Mercedes-AMG GT to the G-Class, covering gasoline as well as diesel engines. Even fans of modern classic cars are catered for, as the PowerModules for the E-Class W210 or the C-Class W202 show. The standard price for almost all car models is 1,499 euros. Only for vehicles with particularly complicated engines, such as the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, the price increases to 2,499 euros. But customers are compensated with a priceless addition to their driving pleasure: For the model above, the power increases from 510 HP (375 kW) and 700 Nm to 598 HP (440 kW) and 830 Nm.
The fact check reveals why the new generation of performance boosts is a true revolution. The benefits already start during installation, which only takes a short time in the workshop thanks to the plug-and-play concept: All connections are simply plugged in, so the entire process is nondestructive and can be reversed at any time. Getting more power under the hood has rarely been this quick. The high level of standardization even allows the Lorinser PowerModules to be transferred to a different Mercedes if the product is generally available for the other model. The only other prerequisite for the “extra power to go” is a reprogramming session at Lorinser, which incurs a charge of 300 euros.
While the standardization of the hardware of the Lorinser PowerModules ensures easy handling, the software – which is adapted to the respective engine down to the last detail – provides maximum efficiency. During operation, a variety of different sensor values is taken into account to make driving more fun while protecting the engine. And, as a tribute to the “visual age”, there is of course an app: Drivers can use their smartphone to check the current status and even to select different driving programs. The individually programmable warm-up timer is another interesting function. At low outside temperatures, for example, it can be used to ensure that the engine has warmed up properly before the fun starts. Let’s roll!
