ABT ignites Audi A6 allroad with up to 408 hp – new wheels available

Trendy SUV, dynamic sports car or practical estate? For over 20 years, the Audi A6 allroad has been the perfect choice for drivers with comprehensive demands. The latest generation (C8) is equipped exclusively with powerful engines, for which ABT Sportsline now offers attractive performance upgrades. Despite its discreet offroad appearance, the dream car’s dynamic handling is beyond all doubt. With permanent all-wheel drive, self-locking centre differential and height-adjustable air suspension, it also cuts a fine figure away from the beaten track.

In hp terms, the petrol-driven 55 TFSI now heads up the available engines: Thanks to the high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control, instead of 340 hp (250 kW), it now delivers 408 hp (300 kW). That is an increase of 20%. At the same time, torque is increased from 500 to 550 Nm. The 55 TDI is king of the diesel engines, with the standard model being the most powerful and delivering 349 hp (257 kW). Thanks to ABT Power, it reaches a new pinnacle of 384 hp (282 kW). In addition, its torque can also be increased from 700 Nm to 760 Nm. And the 50 TDI is more than impressive. It roars out of the factory with 286 hp (210 kW) and 620 Nm. ABT Sportsline can, of course, increase these figures to 330 hp (243 kW) and 670 Nm. If you want to hear as well as feel the ABT in your offroad A6, the export version of ABT Sound Control is available to order for your exhaust.

As regards looks, the allroad differs in many details from a regular A6. Set yourself apart from the regular allroad with stylish alloy wheels from ABT Sportsline. The FR is available in 20 and 21-inch sizes, and the GR in 20-inch. The latter is equipped with a striking concave rim well and a glossy black painted wheel carcass. The sporty and elegant GR wheel, as featured in the pictured vehicle, is also available in matt black. The FR design in mystic black is an exciting interpretation of the classic five-spoke design. All wheel types stand out, thanks to the different accents of their diamond-machined finish. Audi offers the allroad line as an option for the interior and ABT provides interesting customisation details, such as the start-stop-switch-cap and ABT shift knob cover in carbon. Also available are ABT integrated entrance lights, which casually project the ABT logo onto the ground when entering or exiting the vehicle.

ABT Sportsline equips Audi S8 with 700 hp and new wheels

Real sports cars deliver extraordinary driving performance, but usually have a somewhat spartan appearance. For those unwilling to sacrifice any luxury, space or comfort, the Audi S8 has been available since 1996, and as regards acceleration, it can hold its own against the contemporary Porsche 911. The fourth generation of the racy luxury limousine came onto the market in early 2020, with a powerful V8 bi-turbo petrol engine delivering 571 hp (420 kW) and 800 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h: 3.8 seconds! As such, it is faster than a current 992 model. But can it also compete with even faster super sports cars? With this comparison, ABT Sportsline comes into play with an extremely attractive performance upgrade.

The software of the high-tech ABT Engine Control unit has been precisely adapted for this model and can unleash a hefty 700 hp (515 kW) from the new S8. Maximum torque increases to 880 Nm. This amazing power is clearly reflected in the new performance figures: Now the traditional standard sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h is achieved in 3.4 seconds. For vehicles equipped with ABT Power and ceramic brakes, an optional top speed increase to 270 km/h is available. The 5.18-metre limousine, weighing over 2.3 tonnes, generally cuts a fine figure, even when cornering. This is down to the meticulously designed standard suspension. The chassis can tilt up to three degrees when cornering, and a camera constantly monitors the next 15 metres, to facilitate active response to any uneven surface.

Aesthetically, the Audi S8 maintains an elegant, understated appearance. Therefore, upon request, ABT Sportsline adds just one discreet carbon fibre rear spoiler. Additional sporty trappings include 20-inch ABT GR or FR wheels. The latter is also available in 21-inch, as featured on the pictured vehicle. The design is a particularly attractive interpretation of the classic five-spoke design. Its diamond-machined outlines and mystic black finish provide an interesting colour contrast. In turn, the GR features a striking concave rim well and a glossy black painted wheel chassis contrasts with a diamond-machined rim flange. The sporty and elegant wheel is also available as an alternative in matt black with an entirely diamond-machined finish.

From inside too, the owner can drop subtle hints to his passengers that they are not travelling in a standard S8. The ABT start-stop-switch-cap and ABT shift knob cover make this possible. A step on the accelerator will remove any doubt.

ABT e-Transporter 6.1 with optional aero package ready to go

The beginning of June sees the start of production of the ABT e-Transporter 6.1. As with its predecessor, ABT e-Line, an official premium partner of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, is responsible for converting the vehicle to electric drive. The Schaeffler Group is acting as a strategic co-operation partner in this process. Together with the ABT Group, they have been performing pioneering work in Formula E as part of a technological partnership since 2014. The ABT e-Transporter 6.1 delivers a maximum output of 83 kW and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The vehicle will be available with top speed options of either 90 km/h or 120 km/h. The range is between 105 and 138 km depending upon specification (according to WLTP), (gross) battery capacity is 37.3 kWh and electricity consumption between 27.0 and 35.8 kWh/100 km. The battery from the ABT e-Transporter 6.1 weighs 333 kg and is fully charged with AC from a 7.2-kW wallbox in approximately 5.5 hours. Alternatively, it can be charged to 80% capacity from a 50-kW rapid-charging station (CCS) in approximately 45 minutes. The vehicle is available to purchase or lease from selected Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealers (VWCV) or via ABT e-Line Partners. For more information, consult the international dealer locator. The Transporter will be available in Germany, France, Sweden, Poland, Spain, UK and Italy.

Because the “VW bus” has always been more than “just” a commercial vehicle, ABT Sportsline has an ace up its sleeve: the optional aero package. The comprehensive set from the world’s largest tuner of VW and Audi vehicles includes a front skirt add-on, a front grille add-on, side skirts, rear wing and rear skirt. Furthermore, the ABT Sport GR 9.0 x 20-inch alloy wheels are a feast for the eyes. Two finishes are available: matt black with diamond-machined finish or glossy black with diamond-machined rim flange.

The ABT e-Transporter is not just a pretty face. It also offers a full loading capacity of 6.7 m3. The kombi or caravelle transports up to nine people. The maximum payload is 977 kg as a commercial vehicle and up to 1,096 kg as a passenger vehicle. It can also handle braked trailer loads of up to 1,500 kg (750 kg unbraked). The ABT e-Transporter 6.1 is available exclusively with long wheelbase and in left-hand or right-hand drive versions. Net list prices start at €44,990 for the panel van, €49,623 for the kombi and €56,475 for the caravelle Comfortline. ABT e-Transporter Leasing is also available, starting at €459/month for the panel van.

Webcon High-to-Low Fuel Pressure Regulator

Webcon is pleased to announce a new fuel pressure regulator for use with carburettors which will reduce high EFi fuel pressure down to low pressure. This reduction allows a more stable high pressure/high flow, EFi type, fuel pump with a swirl pot to supply a carburettor fed engine. Thev result is a smoother, uninterrupted fuel supply which is less affected by fuel vapour lock or centrifugal forces during cornering, acceleration or braking – all without the need of an ECU or full EFi conversion.

The WFR602 Regulator can also be used with low pressure fuel pumps and is suitable for both normally aspirated or turbocharged applications with carburettor(s).

The pressure setting is variable from 1.5psi to approx 5psi (plus boost if turbocharged).

The WFR602 Regulator can safely be used with E85 alcohol fuel.

The WFR602 Regulator retails at £56.95 plus VAT and comes complete with three 1/8” NPT connectors, mounting bracket and fixings.
