Although the MGC received a special torsion bar suspension when the original MGB design was altered to receive the BMC \u2018C Series\u2019 six cylinder engine the MGC was never a great handler. In an effort to improve matters many were converted to tubular dampers and GAZ can offer an upgrade for those cars with a conversion kit.<\/p>\n
GAZ dampers improve performance by adding adjustability for damper bump\/rebound to suit the conditions and driving style. Adjustment is by means of an easily accessible knob on the side of the dampers.<\/p>\n
GAZ can set the dampers up with valving for general road use and they will also be suitable for the occasional track slalom and sprint use; alternatively, they can be set up for serious racing use if you so wish.<\/p>\n
GAZ dampers feature a zinc plated body for longevity and a plastic cover to protect the body from mud, stones and dirt.<\/p>\n
All units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty<\/p>\n
GAZ dampers for the MGC can be ordered as part numbers GT6-2224 front and GT6-2222 rear. They retail at \u00a357.78 each plus VAT. NB:\u2008GAZ\u2008dampers can only be fitted to MGC cars that have the tubular dampers conversion kit.<\/p>\n
Note: Prince Charles took delivery of an MGC GT (SGY 766F) in 1967, which he passed down to Prince William 30 years later. Let\u2019s hope he reads this!<\/p>\n
