The discs are manufactured by EBC and designed to shave crucial kilogrammes off a vehicle\u2019s un-sprung weight, leading to: sharper turn in, improved tyre road holding, better fuel economy and an increase to BHP at the wheels. Best of all, when the cast iron friction ring becomes worn after a period of use, the outer ring alone can be replaced, allowing the centre hub and stainless bobbins to be re-used, thereby reducing long term running costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discs are manufactured from the finest materials and are some of the highest quality two-piece discs on the market at any price. All outer friction rings are cast from a high-copper, high-carbon G3500 disc alloy. The bells are precision machined from aerospace grade aluminium then hard anodised for great looks and excellent durability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cast iron outer ring \u2018floats\u2019 on EBC\u2019s patented SD-Drive technology bobbins, allowing the friction ring to expand and contract freely by up to 3mm when subjected to the extreme heat generated from hard braking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All bobbins are machined from a single piece of stainless steel. This prevents unsightly corrosion and ensures the outer ring continues to float freely even after years of exposure to the elements. EBC Racing\u2019s two-piece floating discs offer a low maintenance solution for both road and the track use. Each bobbin location also features an anti-rattle springclip; this results in the discs being totally silent in operation and there is no \u2018off brake disc rattle\u2019 that plagues many other full race two-piece disc systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two piece discs are a simple direct replacement for the original single piece discs. No vehicle modifications are required and the discs are supplied fully assembled. The discs feature 48 directionally handed, curved vanes for effective heat dissipation,  thus operating temperatures are reduced which helps delay the onset of brake fade.
