(Although Moulton had designed a rubber cone and hydraulic system during his time at Alvis). The problem with revolutionary inventions is that once they cease production they rapidly become hard to replace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully Mini Spares, true to its tradition of producing hard-to-find Mini parts, has produced its own version of the Rear Suspension Trumpet to fit the wider 3.7\u201d cone spring base (earlier versions were 3.2\u201d) and it is available in two lengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12.28\u201d long version is available as part number 21A1684 and replicates the part Rover fitted to Minis with 12\u201d wheels from 1984 and the Mini Van\/Estate and Pickup models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The longer 12.4\u201d version is available as part number 21A1684S and is intended for the MPi Mini with 13\u201d wheels, although it will also fit Moke and the Cooper S to September 1964 which had 12.48\u201d trumpets as standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trumpet length dictates the rear ride height so if your Mini has been lowered by cutting the trumpet these Mini Spares versions will enable the original height to be restored.<br>Both versions retail at \u00a357.60 each inc.
