Crawl underneath or look under the bonnet of almost any modern car and you’ll find dimpled aluminium heat shields protecting the passenger compartment and delicate components from heat. Now, thanks to DEI, you can have that same protection on your classic, street rod, camper van, boat or kit car.
DEI’s Form-A-Shield is made from 10mm thick dimpled aluminium with a ¼” (6.35mm) thick high temperature basalt insulation. Form-A-Shield can withstand direct temperatures in excess of 1400˚F (760˚ C) so it can be applied directly to high temperature sources such as exhausts and turbos.
It can be easily moulded to fit around cast exhaust manifolds, pipes and silencers and provides outstanding performance in reflecting and blocking heat.

Burton now offers a cast aluminium replacement ‘Duratec-R’ cam cover which has been designed to fit all standard Ford 2.0, 2.3 and 2.5 Duratec HE I4 engines.
The cam cover can also be used on VVT Duratec engines but only when the variable valve timing gear has been removed. The cam cover is for use with a Ford coil pack and plug leads – coil-on-plugs cannot be used because of space limitations.
The cam cover is 65mm in height which will give a 2.3 or 2.5 Duratec engine the same overall height as a standard 2.0 engine with the original Ford cam cover.
The cam cover comes in a cast finish but can be painted or powder coated if desired.
A spun aluminium filler cap is also included.
The ‘Duratec-R’ aluminium cam cover kit includes: sand cast aluminium cover, spun aluminium filler cap, internal baffle tray, plastic filler cap key, complete o-ring seal set and fittings.
