With coil suspension all round, an engine based on the legendary Dolomite Sprint and stunning futuristic looks, the Triumph TR-7 should have been a world beater. Unfortunately, poor build quality and production problems marred its success; however, it’s still a lively and rewarding classic sportscar and with GAZ dampers it becomes the car it should have been.

GAZ fully adjustable GT dampers enable the damping bump and rebound rate to be adjusted to suit the conditions and driving style. The dampers have adjustable damping rates which can be altered by means of an easily accessible knob on the side of the units.

GAZ can set the dampers up for general road use but they will also be suitable for the occasional track slalom and sprint use; alternatively, they can be set up for serious racing use if you so wish.

GAZ dampers feature a zinc plated body and protective plastic sleeve to keep them looking good and working well for long into the future.

All units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty – making them far more reliable than the TR-7 itself used to be!!

GAZ Adjustable Coilover Dampers for classic Lotus Cortina Mk1 (Early ‘A’ frame models)

The early Mk1 Lotus-Cortina (or Cortina-Lotus, to give it the correct, but less used, name) differed from the run-of-the-mill Cortina in numerous ways and one of the more noticeable was the rear suspension.

The standard Cortina had leaf springs and dampers whilst the first Lotus-Cortinas had vertical coil spring/dampers connecting to an ‘A’ frame that replaced the leaf springs.

GAZ can further improve on this system by offering fully adjustable GP dampers which enable the damping bump and rebound rate to be adjusted and the ride height to be varied by means of screw thread spring platforms.

GAZ can set the dampers up for general road use but they will also be suitable for the occasional track slalom and sprint use; alternatively, they can be set up for serious racing use if you so wish.

GAZ dampers feature a black zinc plated body to keep them looking good and working well for long into the future. A gas cell is fitted in the outer reservoir to prevent cavitation and resist fade.

All units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty.

The GAZ GP dampers (number GP8-4600) will fit Lotus-Cortinas from 1963 to 1965 which was when Fords changed back to leaf springs and dampers. (GAZ can also supply adjustable dampers for the 1965 on MkI and MkII Lotus Cortinas). Retail price £116.42 each plus VAT.

DEI’s Muffler Shield Kit solves the problem of heat from the silencer being transmitted to a vehicle’s interior and nearby components.

DEI based the technology and materials on its well-proven Floor and Tunnel II heat shield. The new Muffler Shield is designed to wrap around just about any sized silencer and comes complete with a set of durable stainless steel positive locking ties for a secure installation.

DEI Muffler Shield is made from 10mm dimpled aluminium with an 1/8″ thick needle glass insulator. The material is tough but can easily be trimmed to fit.

Burton Zetec E RWD Conversion Kit
for Ford Escort Mk1/Mk2

For anyone considering installing a modern Zetec E 1.8/2.0 engine in to an Escort Mk1 or Mk2, Burton now has a RWD conversion kit that is suitable for both Silver Top and Black Top engines (including the ST170).
The tailor-made engine mounts fit to the original crossmember and will line up with bolt holes on the Zetec block to correctly position the engine.

The kit includes:
• A cast alloy sump pan kit (the original sump will not clear the Escort crossmember) with baffles, pickup, dipstick, dipstick tube, sump gasket and sealer.

• A water rail to simplify the cooling system and plumbing of the engine.The rail has provision for a temperature gauge sender and electric fan switch. The kit includes suitable switches for Escorts and a fitting kit.

• A steel flywheel with ring gear- which when used with a 2.0 Pinto clutch and the clutch will be set at the correct height for the bearing.

Burton Alloy Rocker Cover for Ford X/Flow & Pre-X/Flow Kent OHV Engine

Burton now has an alloy rocker cover in black which is suitable for both Pre-Crossflow and Crossflow Ford ‘Kent’ engines. The rocker cover will even fit the transverse Fiesta ‘Kent’ engine (although it will move the oil filler to the opposite side of the cover).

The cast ribs and BURTON logo are polished to stand out from the black finish and add a touch of style to the engine bay. Fixing is by means of four FP453 bolts.
