Burton is pleased to announce the introduction of oversized pistons in a new size that was previously unavailable.
The pistons are ideal for Kent engines running +0.090” pistons which are now in need of a rebore. In the past this would have meant going to expensive forged pistons (+.090” was the maximum size for a cast piston) or finding another engine block.
The pistons have 4mm deep valve pockets meaning they will fit most performance camshafts (including 234 and 244) without any further piston modifications.
The pistons are cast with highly stable invar inserts similar to the original Hepolite replacements.
These pistons are made by an OE manufacturer and should not be confused with cheap Chinese imports.
The compression ratio will be in the region of 10.6:1 in a 1600 engine (the exact figure will depend on block height, head gasket thickness, etc).
The pistons can be ordered as part number 18647/110 and retail at £70.20 each incl. VAT making them considerably cheaper than custom made forged pistons.

AmD can now offer the latest Cobra Sport performance exhaust systems for the BMW M235i. The Cobra Sport systems feature a 3” diameter bore throughout with mandrel bends and no indentations. This is superior to the OE system and has been shown to achieve gains of +10bhp with a +16 lb-ft gain in torque. There is also a significant weight advantage; the Cobra Sport system weighs only 16.32kg which gives a 20% decrease from the OE system weight of 20.38kg. But it doesn’t stop there, when the exhaust is teamed up with an AmD remap things get really hot.
