In response to customers requests, Mini Spares is now offering a 998cc(1030cc) half engine in addition to its existing 1275cc(1380cc) version.
Both half engines are supplied exclusively to Mini Spares by Bill Richards Racing using Mini Spares parts.
The 998(1030cc) and 1275(1380cc) are as fast and powerful as one would hope, whilst maintaining drivability and a reasonable MPG figure.
Both half engines use the Evolution camshaft which has very low hydrocarbon emissions making itwell within MoT requirements. The half engines are supplied fully built using the parts shown. However, it should be noted that a timing cover is not included and so will need to be transfered from the old engine.

Mini Spares has just introduced a grille especially for owners wanting the Mk1 Cooper retro look for their later Minis, whilst retaining the security of an internal cable bonnet lock.
The kit includes a Mk1 Cooper look grille but with a full top slat, instead of a finger opening for the bonnet lock release. The kit also includes the moustache-shaped surround, which is chrome over brass for longevity, plus the side whiskers and all fitting clips.

In 1966 Volvo took the decision to replace the traditionally styled Volvo Amazon with the boxy looking 140 Series of saloons and estate cars. This would set the general styling trend of the automotive industry for much of the early 70s.
If you feel that these styling icons of the early Seventies should be preserved (much as icons like the Battersea Power Station should be preserved) then you’ll be pleased to hear that GAZ is now producing fully adjustable suspension dampers to keep these vehicles on the road.

The Grantura was produced by TVR from the late Fifties until it was replaced by the Griffith (basically a MkIII Grantura powered by a Ford 289 V8) in 1963.
Production numbers were never high so the numbers surviving are relatively low. However, that doesn’t stop GAZ from offering fully adjustable suspension dampers for the Granturas that are still around today.
The GAZ GHA suspension kit provides ride height adjustability from -25mm to -55mm.
The height adjusters have a coarse acme form thread for ease of adjustment and the damper units are zinc plated to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service.
Damper rates are also variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper body.

Traditionally, the thinking was that a 4×4 needs the momentum of a heavy flywheel to keep the engine running when the going gets tough. However modern 4×4 vehicles are designed for comfortable cruising on the highway as well as optimum off road performance, so the old rules no longer apply – providing you get the design right.

DEI has just added heat resistant Knitted Sleeves to its range of Titanium heat protection products.
DEI Titanium Knitted Sleeves are available in two different precut lengths – 12” and 24” (30.48cm and 60.96cm).
The knitted sleeves are designed to fit around and insulate exhaust pipes to prevent the transfer of heat to surrounding components and the passenger compartment.
They are also ideal protection against burns from kit cars and trucks with exposed exhausts.
The Titanium Knitted Sleeves have a maximum temperature rating of 1800oF (approx. 982oC) with a continuous rating of 1382oF (750oC).
The Titanium Knitted Sleeves are designed to fit 4” (10.16cm) O.D. pipe, but can expand up to one and a half times in diameter allowing them to be installed over flanges, joints and sensors.
