If you have ever had the unpleasant experience of a throttle sticking open, or not returning fully to idle, this new component from Webcon will be of special interest.

Webcon is pleased to announce the introduction of an external return spring system for the Weber DCOE carburettor. An external return system is now mandatory for most race series, but it is also a useful addition for road car owners who would like to speed up their carburettor’s return to idle and benefit from a fail safe mechanism to guard against a throttle sticking.

The Webcon External Return Spring System is suitable for all sizes of authentic Italian and Spanish manufactured Weber DCOE and DCO/SP carburettors and can be ordered as part number LT5000 at £28.90 plus VAT.

The latest addition to Webcon’s unrivalled range of Weber intake manifolds is a one-piece item that allows the fitment of a pair of Weber 40DCOE carburettors to the Sunbeam Alpine
1725cc sports car.

Part number MW3040 has an overall length of 80mm and a head port diameter of 34mm. It features a threaded take-off port in one of the runners to allow the servo vacuum pipe to be retained. There are also a pair of 5/16 UNF captive threads to provide attachment points for the Webcon LP5400 rod linkage (which is available separately from Webcon dealers).

MW3040 is priced at £402.83 plus VAT as a single unit. However, it is also available as part of a kit complete with a pair of genuine Weber 40DCOE carburettors, the Webcon rod linkage system mentioned above plus a set of soft mounts. The complete kit can be ordered as part number PSB201-40 priced at £1,407 plus VAT.

The 1st/2nd gear change forks used in classic Minis are prone to wear. The factory shift forks were made of a brass type material and were quite soft as they were designed to wear before the gear; this means that they MUST be replaced often if the box is to continue to shift like new!

Fortunately, MiniSpares have just released two newly re-tooled selector fork options. Both have been manufactured in the UK using the lost wax casting process to produce the parts in an aluminium bronze alloy. The result is a marked improvement on the original brass type version.

The first gear fork is for the 4 synchro pre-rod- change gearbox only.

Burton is now offering added reliability for tuned SOHC Pinto and Kent engines in the form of a pair of Poly V alternator/water pump drive kits.

The kits contains a multi ribbed Poly V belt and a matching pulley set with tensioner that will reduce the chances of a drive belt being ‘thrown’ during high performance driving.

Both kits are supplied with an alternator pulley to suit 15mm diameter shafts (which can be modified to suit 17mm shafts).

The new Evolution range of pistons are available in +.020, +.040 & +.060 sizes and have been specifically designed with durability and performance in mind.

The pistons feature a re-designed crown and ring lands to increase strength in these area. This not only helps to extend the life of the piston, but also guards against detonation damage caused by poor quality modern fuels.

To maximise the benefits provided by the pistons, the package includes piston rings that use the same dimensions as Mini Spares MEGA & Omega piston ranges.

A gudgeon pin is also included with each piston.
