If you are rebuilding or modifying a Mini (or other A Series) engine be aware that some, so called, ‘genuine Rover gasket sets’ can be poor in quality or have incorrect parts.
The problem was so significant that Mini Spares decided to put together its own correct gasket set. The original Payen gaskets served as a template, but modern KLINGER super gasket material (as used on some parts of the MPI twin point injection engines) was used.
This dual-fit multi-piece selection of KLINGER upgraded engine block gaskets will fit any early or A-Plus engine. It is suitable for road or race and will boost the longevity of your classic Mini.
The kit includes two rubber tappet chest cover seals (as fitted to some Minis from 1966).

Despite its non-sporting image, the Volvo 240 was a successful competitor in touring car racing in the 1980s. Considering the size of the car, handling was also quite good thanks to the MacPherson strut-type front suspension. Of course, having front struts makes this a prime candidate for conversion to GAZ Gold fully adjustable struts, that will upgrade it to adjustable ride height as well as providing variable bump/rebound settings.
The GAZ Gold kit upgrades the original donor struts to adjustable coilovers on which the ride height can be adjusted through 60mm. The coilovers have a coarse acme form thread for ease of height adjustment and to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service. Damping rates are variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper bodies.
Each coilover comes with a reservoir filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to reduce fade and a gas cell to prevent cavitation under harsh racing and trackday conditions. The GAZ Gold range is designed primarily for out-and-out racing; however, springs (included in kit) are supplied to the customer’s specifications according to the vehicle’s intended use – road, road and track or out-and-out race/track day.
All the units are individually tested before leaving the factory. The damper bodies are now finished in the new GAZ black plated coating to shrug off dirt, dust and minor gravel debris.

The VW Golf Mk4 4motion obviously has good traction arising from four wheel drive and a Haldex Traction clutch system. However, the GAZ GHA coilover suspension kit can now improve the handling and ride to match the traction.

Burton Power is pleased to announce it can now offer Ford Type 9 Five Speed Gearboxes (also referred to as a ‘Type N’ gearbox in some workshop manuals) with a 2.98:1 ‘long’ 1st gear.
The complete gearboxes have been reconditioned to Ford O.E. Standards using the GBT9200 long 1st gear conversion kit. This partial gear kit is designed to lower the ratio of first gear from a short 3.65:1 to a much more useable 2.98:1. The upgrade includes a brand new mainshaft first gear and a used layshaft cluster that has been modified to work with the new first gear. The remaining gears are as original. The gear ratios are: 2.98/1.97/1.37/1:1/0.82.
