Inserting lines, bundles of wires or hoses into split line sleeving can be frustrating and tedious.
These new tools from DEI make the task a breeze and enable the job to be done in a fraction of the time, with no nipped fingers either!
Simply insert the line, wires or hose into the tool, twist to lock and slip it into the end of the split sleeve. Then pull it along and the split sleeve opens as you pull the tool and closes behind it. Presto! Your line, wire or hose is inside the sleeving with the minimum of fuss and effort.
The tools are available in two sizes: Easy Loom Line Sleeve Tool – Large £6.12 Easy Loom Line Sleeve Tool – Small £5.66

Burton Power is pleased to announce it can now offer its own version of the original Group 1 prop shaft. The Burton Propshaft uses a larger diameter tubing and has no centre bearing; this single piece propshaft is thus much stronger than the original two piece item. It is suitable as a direct replacement for the original prop or for competition use. It will fit all standard RS2000s or Mk2 Escorts that use a Rocket or 5 speed gearbox and an English or Atlas axle. It will also fit a Mk1 with a Mk2 diff. flange.
The Propshaft is a high quality item manufactured in the UK, not a cheap inferior import. The vast majority of imports use rather crude forgings which are heavier and the tubing spec can often be suspect. The tube specification used on Burton propshafts is SAE 1020/1040, as per the original specification. The end float in the universal joints is controlled by varying the thickness of the circlips which gives a smoother joint action and better control over straightness and dynamic balance. All shafts are checked and corrected for straightness. The aim is to have no greater runout of more than 0.25mm on any part of the tube (compared to original specification of 0.35mm). Dynamic balance is at 3000rpm to ISO specification G16. All propshafts are now fitted with an upgraded transmission sleeve to eradicate any reliability issues under extreme race conditions. Applications: Ford Escort Mk2 RS Mexico 1975-1978 Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800 1975-1977 Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 1976-1980 Ford Escort Mk2 with a 4 speed Rocket or 5 speed Type 9 gearbox 1975-1980 Ford Escort Mk1 with a 4 speed Rocket or 5 speed Type 9 gearbox and a Mk2 diff flange 1968-1974 Burton Power’s Propshaft can be ordered as part PROPENG at £195.00 each inc. DEI makes dozens of different heat shields including some that are self-adhesive or can be glued in place. However sometimes a rigid or semi rigid heat shield is required that stands away from the surface a little, rather than be in direct contact with it; for example when there are wires or fuel lines that also need to be protected from the heat source. That’s when the latest stand off kit from DEI comes in handy.
The new DEI universal mounting kit for ridged or semi-ridged heat shields comprises six stainless steel standoffs with mounting bolts, nuts and washers. The kit will provide a half inch (1.27 cms) stand off.
Order as part number 010224 at £14.11 plus shipping and import tax.

The current Audi RS 4 can look back on an impressive lineage that goes back to the RS2. While it recently received a facelift, ABT Sportsline is already showcasing the next stage of its evolution. The special edition ABT RS4-S features an alluring aero package and clearly offers more performance*: 510 hp (375 kW) and 660 Nm are the key data. This means an increase of 60 hp or 44 kW and 60 Nm compared to the standard 450 hp (331 kW). This is made possible by the high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control and a special air intake cover. The acceleration is correspondingly impressive – from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. If you want a further performance upgrade, ABT Power S is available for an extra charge, and this will achieve 530 hp (390 kW) and 680 Nm. As an exclusive extra for this version, a V-max increase to 300 km/h is available on request.
“The Audi RS4 has been an icon since the first generation in 1999,” explains Managing Director Hans-Jürgen Abt: “We have added some exciting new features to this high-calibre performer, and now it has even more fire.” The incendiary head-turner’s individual look starts with the ABT Aerokit, which is only available in this configuration for the ABT RS4-S. Included in the scope of delivery: ABT front lip add-on with model name, front blades and wheelhouse ventilation, which are adorned by a real carbon fin. A CFRP rear spoiler and rear skirt insert are also included. Finally, the ABT stainless steel exhaust system makes it look & sound perfect: Four 102 mm carbon-fibre end pipes emphasise the self-confident appearance. The 21-inch ABT SPORT GR alloy wheels come into their own in glossy black.
To ensure that longitudinal and lateral dynamics are perfectly balanced, the package also includes ABT height adjustable suspension springs as well as ABT anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles. The world’s largest tuner of vehicles from Audi and VW also provides the ABT coilover suspension for an extra charge. The ABT RS4-S also has a dynamic interior: RS4-S logos feature on the seat refinement, door sills and floor mats. An emblem badge adds the finishing touch to the interior. For an additional charge, carbon fibre for the seat shells, seat frame covers and dashboard covers, and the new leather and carbon upgrade for the steering wheel are available. As such, the power estate delivers even greater driving pleasure.
From a sports perspective, the 55 TFSI e quattro is a real hidden champion of the Audi Q5 range. After all, the system performance of the standard plug-in hybrid is already a staggering 367 hp (270 kW). This is even more than what the SQ5 delivers. ABT Sportsline is bringing the power SUV directly into the limelight with an extensive aero package: The scope of delivery includes front skirt, door strip attachments, rear skirt and 102-mm twin carbon endpipes. A rear spoiler can be fitted upon request. The particularly striking wide body package also includes fender extensions. They not only lend the Q5 55 TFSI e quattro an extremely sovereign appearance, but also facilitate a spectacular 22-inch alloy wheel option.
The world’s largest tuner for Audi and VW vehicles installs the dynamic and elegant ABT GR on the hybrid Q5. Here, a glossy black wheel body contrasts with a diamond-finished rim flange. However, the ABT GR is not just a pretty face. Its fine balance also contributes to optimum handling. And that is not insignificant for a high-powered vehicle such as the Audi Q5 55 TFSI e.
This cutting edge, plug-in hybrid vehicle combines a four-cylinder petrol engine with 252 hp (185 kW) and 370 Nm with an electric motor. Of course, ABT Sportsline has successfully and significantly improved the factory system performance of 367 hp (270 kW) and 500 Nm. Thanks to the performance upgrade from ABT Power*, the combustion engine now achieves 310 hp (228 kW) and 420 Nm. When combined with the standard electric motor, an impressive system performance of 425 hp (313 kW) and 550 Nm is achieved. The same ABT performance upgrade is also possible with the 50 TFSI e, which uses the same petrol engine. Since the factory-installed electric motor is slightly less powerful, the system performance of the series vehicle is 299 hp (220 kW) and the total torque is 450 Nm. The upgraded vehicle will deliver 357 hp (263 kW) and 500 Nm.
Furthermore, the Bavarian company also offers attractive details for the interior. Alongside ABT integrated entrance lights, the latest additions include the start-stop switch cap and gearshift cover. Companies who would like to change over to battery electric drives will find the perfect concept for local transport in the ABT e-Transporter 6.1. Currently, the model converted by the official premium partner of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) is already being used to deliver food and bakery products or as a school bus. “We are targeting companies that want to be emission-free over the last mile. We are looking for companies that can estimate the operating radius of their vehicles well and that create their own charging infrastructure,” explains Wolfgang Börsig, who has been acting as Managing Director of ABT e-Line GmbH since March 2020, which also has a qualified strategic partner in the Schaeffler Group.
Depending on the model, the range is between 105 and 138 km (according to WLTP): This sounds down-to-earth, but it corresponds exactly to the requirement profile of the target group. Thanks to the relatively compact battery with a capacity of 37.3 kWh (gross), the full 6.7 m3 of cargo space can be retained. Only the long wheelbase version is offered. The maximum payload is a hefty 1,096 kg as a commercial vehicle and up to 977 kg as a passenger vehicle. It can also handle braked trailer loads of up to 1,500 kg. As kombi or caravelle, the ABT e-Transporter 6.1 has space for up to nine people. Net list prices start at €40,500 for the panel van and differ depending on the country. ABT e-Transporter Leasing is also available. The vehicle is available from selected Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealers and via ABT e-Line Partners. For more information, consult our international dealer locator.
The weight distribution of almost 50:50 and the particularly low centre of gravity due to the 333-kg battery ensure a pleasant ride. This is also reflected in the feedback from journalists who have already driven the vehicle. The small turning circle and precise electromechanical steering were also praised. The ABT e-Transporter 6.1 has a peak power output of 83 kW and a maximum torque of 200 Nm – perfect for its typical tasks. This, in conjunction with the limited top speed of 90 km/h (or optionally 120 km/h), results in economical consumption. Depending on the model, it is between 27.0 and 35.8 kWh/100 km. The DSG transmission used in the ABT e-Transporter, of which three gears are used, also proves to be advantageous here in terms of power development. If the battery becomes drained after a hard day’s work, it is fully charged with AC from a 7.2-kW wallbox in approximately 5.5 hours. Alternatively, it can be charged to 80% capacity from a 50-kW rapid-charging station (CCS) in approximately 45 minutes.
The locally emission-free and low-noise vehicle is particularly suitable for inner-city deliveries, which often take place in the early morning hours. So the residents’ sleep is undisturbed. And due to the low maintenance costs, so is the operator’s. Eight years or 160,000 kilometres guarantee on a battery residual capacity of 70 % should also convince buyers. The battery consists of 16 modules and these can also be replaced individually, which saves both money and the environment. By the end of 2021, ABT e-Line plans to initially produce around 5500 of the electric transporters.
