To run a Pinto SOHC engine in an Escort it is necessary to fit an alloy sump from a Mk1/2 RS2000 to clear the crossmember and steering rack. However, good used RS2000 sumps are now quite rare and consequently expensive.
The good news is that the alloy version that Burtons made itself, some time ago is now available again. It even has some improvements over the original such as providing far more protection from oil surge.
The modified baffles will also fit original sumps with bolt in baffles and are available
separately.
