Oil Gallery Plugs might not be the most interesting of parts but they are, none the less, essential for anyone rebuilding a Mini engine over the winter. Experienced engine tuners know that when rebuilding an engine it’s a wise move to remove these plugs to clean out any sludge and then fit new plugs.

Mini Spares has the tapered 6.25mm to 6.95mm plug to fit the 1/4” hole on pre-1985 ‘Metro’ blocks (order as part number 2K1345) and the cup type 12.7mm diameter plug that fits the 1/2” hole on 1985-on engine blocks (order as part number 12G3503).

In 1953 AC began production of the AC Ace. Soon afterwards, car dealer and racing driver Ken Rudd fitted his own competition Ace with a pre-war BMW-designed, Bristol-produced 135 bhp (101 kW) six-cylinder engine. This combination was put into production in 1957 as the AC Ace-Bristol. In this form, the car raced at Le Mans in 1957 and 1958.

The Fidanza aluminium flywheel is made from high-quality machined 6061 T6 aluminium with a 1050 steel friction surface. Fastener holes and chamfers have been CNC machined for accuracy and military grade fasteners are included.

The steel friction surface of the flywheel (shown in the image with its green protective coating) is heat treated for optimum grip and a long service life. It is also replaceable; when the surface eventually becomes worn it can be changed without having to replace the whole flywheel.

This neat stainless steel adaptor connects to the speedometer cable output drive to allow a Ford electronic speedometer sensor to be fitted to an older style gearbox (such as a Rocket or Type 9 gearbox).

The adaptor is also compatible with many other makes of sensors that use an M18x1.5 thread; for example, Vauxhall, Fiat, VW, etc.

Now, classic rear wheel drive Fords can be fitted with electronic speedometers thanks to a new sensor from Burton Power.

The sensor will connect to most Ford RWD gearboxes that have an M18x1.5 speedometer cable output thread.

The sensor gives an eight pulse per revolution signal and is just 45mm in length which means it can be mounted within most transmission tunnels.

Connection to the electronic speedometer is by means of a three wire connector: pickup, live and an earth.
