Green light for Golf VIII programme ABT Sportsline presents lowering springs and alloy wheels

With the Golf VIII, Volkswagen promises an entirely new digital experience – but the new model also scores with its classic virtues. The handling and driving experience are first-class and the direct steering in particular lends a sporty feel. ABT Sportsline now presents the first matching tuning products. Ever since the first options for the Golf 1 during the 1970s, the Bavarian company has accompanied every generation of Golf with a comprehensive programme. Both then and now, lowering is essential to create a sporty appearance. ABT suspension springs reduce the chassis clearance of the Golf VIII all round by between 25 and 30 mm, depending upon engine and specification. By doing this, not only is the handling improved, but the Golf also takes on a significantly more sporty appearance. The set is also suitable for cars with adaptive chassis control (DCC).

Lowering also creates the perfect opportunity to showcase the range of alloy wheels from the world’s largest tuner of VW and Audi vehicles. As such, the first three available designs come into their own in the wheel arches. The silver ABT ER-C is available in 18 or 19-inch sizes with tyre options of 225/40 R18 or 225/35 R19. The elegant designed FR-C rim features an impressive, diamond-machined wheel body in mystic black. The distinctive wheel for the Golf VIII is available in 20-inch exclusively and with the option of 235/30 R20 tyres. The same sizes apply to the especially dynamic ABT Sport GR with its diamond-machined, matt black finish.

Altogether, the listed components are a smaller taster of the final programme built around the Wolfsburg best-seller. By summer at the latest, ABT Sportsline will also be able to provide a range of performance upgrades for the petrol and diesel engines. For an up-to-date overview of each of the available components, visit the ABT Configurator.

‘S’ delivers even more power ABT Power S gives Audi RS4 530 hp – new aero components

Thanks to ABT Power, the Audi RS4 recently scaled new heights. Despite the performance upgrade from 450 hp to 510 hp (331 kW to 375 kW), peak performance is yet to be achieved. This is delivered by ABT Power S* as a new additional option. The effect of the high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC) is combined with an additional water cooler kit and an air intake cover. The result: 530 hp (390 kW) and 680 Nm – in comparison to the standard model, this is a boost of 80 hp (59 kW) and 80 Nm. In addition, an optional intercooler is also available.

Those wanting to make a visual statement will be delighted with ABT Aero Components. The world’s largest tuner of Audi and VW vehicles offers for example, ABT wheelhouse ventilation adorned with real carbonfins. The Bavarian company also offers a gloss-finished CFRP ABT rear spoiler. Furthermore, down below, a new ABT stainless steel exhaust system is connected to the engine. Alongside the acoustic experience, an aesthetic enhancement of the vehicle awaits the customer: For this, ABT Sportsline installs a total of four carbon fibre end pipes, each with a diameter of 102 mm. To create a suitable framework, glossy black end pipe inserts are also integrated into the rear skirt.

As regards, alloy wheels, an attractive trio must be mentioned: The ABT Sports Wheels DR and FR are each available in 20-inch and mystic black. Alternatively, the model GR is available in glossy black or matt black in 20 or 21-inch. The dynamics of a vehicle are not only displayed in engine power, looks and acoustics. Therefore, as additional components, ABT Sportsline offers both ABT height adjustable suspension-kit and – alternatively – ABT height adjustable suspension springs. Both can be combined with ABT anti-roll bars for the front and rear axles upon request.

A whole host of new, perfectly matched options for the interior of the new Audi RS4 round off ABT Sportsline’s styling portfolio. Along with the ABT start-stop switch cap, there is also an ABT seat frame covers carbon refinement and the dashboard covers carbonfiber upgrade. Other impressive options include the ABT shift knob cover, integrated entrance lights and full carbon seat cover. And the new leather and carbon finish for the steering wheel makes precision manoeuvring of the power estate even more fun. For an up-to-date overview of all components, visit the ABT Configurator.

Limited – but not the limit ABT makes special CUPRA Ateca even sportier

The relatively young brand CUPRA has developed into a true success story. Meanwhile, a quarter of all Ateca purchases bears the sporty label. The new special “Limited Edition” model, of which there will be only 1,999, is particularly desirable. The collector’s piece stands out from the crowd not only because of its limited quantity, but also because of its impressive 20-inch wheels, carbon fibre splitter and rear spoiler. An Akrapovic exhaust system is also available as a factory option. However, the new package from ABT Sportsline can make it even more exclusive and even more dynamic.

With regard to the CUPRA Ateca, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW and Audi Group has maintained a partnership with the manufacturer from the outset. So the Bavarian company is also showcasing its skills with the exclusive new special model. A significant component of the tuning package is an ABT Power Performance Upgrade from 300 hp (221 kW) to 350 hp (257 kW). Between 2,000 and 5,200 rpm, the torque is an enormous 440 Nm as opposed to the standard 400 Nm. Acceleration ceases at 255 km/h – 10 km/h more than the standard model. The standard sprint time is also reduced: 0 to 100 km/h is achieved 2 tenths of a second faster, putting 5 seconds dead on the spec sheet.

ABT suspension springs are a perfect partner to the increased performance, and can place the vehicle 25 to 30 mm closer to the tarmac. As a result, not only is the SUV’s roadholding improved, but also its aesthetics. In addition, the new 20-inch ABT GR wheels are shown to their best advantage in the wheel arches. With their glossy black finish, 235/35 R20 tyres and ten spokes forking at the rim flange, they are a real head-turner.

As such, through optimisation of the engine, suspension and wheels, the CUPRA Ateca Limited Edition will become significantly more exclusive. All of the named components and a wide range of alloy wheels are also available separately on request at ABT Sportsline.
