The Cavalier Mk3 was launched in late 1988 and became the UK’s second best selling car behind the Ford Escort for four years. Later in its life it was also available in four wheel drive and turbo versions. Cavalier came to an end in October 1995 but such was its success that Mark III Cavaliers were a common sight on British roads for well over a decade after the end of production.

For those that survive today GAZ can offer uprated suspension in the form of adjustable front strut inserts and rear dampers.

The result is not only improved handling but the added advantage of 20 point adjustable bump and rebound settings.

The insert units are easily adjustable by means of a removeable knob and rear dampers have a side mounted adjuster.

All units are individually tested before leaving the GAZ factory and are covered by a 2 year warranty.

The inserts can be ordered as GAI 0107 at £92.19 each plus VAT. Rear dampers are part number GT6-2294 for the SRi model and GT6-2296 for all other Cavalier Mk3 models including the GSi 2WD 1988/95 and GSI 4X4 1989-95. GT6-2294 and GT6-2296 both retail at £60.67 each +VAT.

GAI 0107 will also fit the Vauxhall Calibra.

Burton is now stocking Hi-Spec Billet 4 calipers. These have been designed to directly replace M16 calipers which are fitted as standard to Escort Mk1/2 RS/Mexico, Escort Mk2, Capri 70- and Cortina Mk3/4/5, thus providing an easy 4 pot upgrade. Just like the original M16 caliper, these calipers are single piece with integral mounting lugs.

Two versions are available. BILLET4-S calipers are for cars with solid brake discs and BILLET4-V calipers are for the models that had vented discs.

BILLET4 calipers are ideal for most road applications and heavier vehicles requiring an M16 upgrade. Billet 6082 T6 aluminium body and pistons weighing only 925g and feature a black anodised finish.. External dust boots protect ingress of dirt into the pistons.

Proper racing braided hose ends tend to be expensive and require special tools to install. However, these stainless and rubber hose ends are affordable and do the job admirably on almost all road cars.

Burton’s 8mm chrome end cap and clamp retails at just £6.00 each inc. VAT and provides secure fastening on all types of hoses, ; it is paticularly useful on stainless steel braided lines as it protects the sharp braided ends and prevents fraying. The internal stainless worm drive clip is replaceable and the cap can be rotated to hide the worm drive for a neater installation. It can be used on 5/16″ and 8mm O.D. hose. Alloy wheels are particularly susceptible to damage when off the vehicle – especially when being stored together on a rack. The faces can easily rub against each other causing rim damage.

Webcon has offered a Weber manifold for the Rover V8 engine for some time, but with two carburettors positioned on each cylinder head this has proved a little too high for some applications.

Now, Webcon has revised the design and positioned the four Weber IDF carburettors in a line along the manifold between the heads, much like the early Aston Martin V8, creating an overall lower profile.

The manifold comes complete with linkage, cable and a stud kit. Order as part number MM4473 at £1699 plus vat.

A complete kit with four carburettors will be released later in 2019.
