In keeping with its policy of providing the parts to keep your Mini on the road, Mini Spares has just released, not one, but two, mainshafts for classic Minis.
DAM7484 – A plus type, often referred to as a 18mm (11/16”) due to the size of the nose bearing for the 1st motion shaft. These use a DAM7485 locking nut and can also be found in some of the last pre A plus gearboxes used on the last of the 1275GT models.
22G833 – Pre A Plus 4 Synchro type, often referred to as a 14mm, is suitable for all 4 synchro pre A+ gearbox applications. It uses a 22G48 locking nut.
Both shafts are UK made and retail at £121.80 inc vat each.

If the trailer that is equipped with own over-run brakes accidentally detaches from the ball head while being towed a breakaway cable automatically triggers the trailer brake.
In many countries a breakaway cable is mandatory. In the case of trailers with no brakes, the use of a safety cable or a chain may still be required. Some countries require the cable to be attached to an eyelet rather than loosely fitting it over the towbar.
Regardless of the regulations a breakaway cable fitted to an eyelet is always recommended when towing.

The VW Lupo GTi has often been overlooked in favour of its well known big brothers, the Polo GTi and the Golf GTi, but it is quite a nimble and economical car and now GAZ can offer some improvement in the handling department too.
GAZ fully adjustable dampers for the Lupo feature a zinc plated body for longevity and a plastic cover to protect the body from mud, stones and dirt.
