The company is now offering its own brand of inertia reel rear seat belts for the late MPi model classic Minis and they are available in a choice of black, beige, blue or red.

Burton is now offering an extra heavy-duty 2.4 ratio steering rack (quickrack) for the Ford Escort Mk1 and 2 as well as kit cars that use those parts.

The quickrack has been manufactured in the UK for Burtons by steering specialists Kiley Clinton and features a brand new cast alloy housing with a thick tube casing, HD bronze bushes and heavy-duty tie rods. New rack clamps, new rack rubbers and tie rod locking nuts are also included.

This is the ideal rack for rally or race use and is more than capable of coping with the arduous conditions involved in rallying.

The quickrack will fit directly to the Escort Mk2 steering system as the tie rods are metric but will also fit Escort Mk1 models when used with tie rod ends QR4118S.

The latest addition to Webcon’s unrivalled range of Weber intake manifolds is a one-piece item that allows the fitment of a pair of Weber 40DCOE carburettors to the Sunbeam Alpine
1725cc sports car.

Part number MW3040 has an overall length of 80mm and a head port diameter of 34mm. It features a threaded take-off port in one of the runners to allow the servo vacuum pipe to be retained. There are also a pair of 5/16 UNF captive threads to provide attachment points for the Webcon LP5400 rod linkage (which is available separately from Webcon dealers).

MW3040 is priced at £402.83 plus VAT as a single unit. However, it is also available as part of a kit complete with a pair of genuine Weber 40DCOE carburettors, the Webcon rod linkage system mentioned above plus a set of soft mounts. The 1st/2nd gear change forks used in classic Minis are prone to wear. The factory shift forks were made of a brass type material and were quite soft as they were designed to wear before the gear; this means that they MUST be replaced often if the box is to continue to shift like new!

Fortunately, MiniSpares have just released two newly re-tooled selector fork options. Both have been manufactured in the UK using the lost wax casting process to produce the parts in an aluminium bronze alloy. The result is a marked improvement on the original brass type version.

The first gear fork is for the 4 synchro pre-rod- change gearbox only.
