Sadly there are a number of companies from the Far East offering poor quality ‘Lucas style’ reproduction rear lights for the Mini. Fortunately Mini Spares can offer the real thing – high quality Lucas style lamps made in the UK from the original and genuine tooling. (Although these lamps are made from original Lucas tooling the new Mini Spares versions cannot carry the Lucas logo as the trademark was sold to a third party company).
The Mk1 Mini rear lamps are made exactly as the originals were with chromed pot metal bases. These lamps are perfect for replacing original lamps whose bases have developed pock marks. The lamps come complete with base, sockets, lamps, lens and gaskets.
Order as 13H223 for right hand and 13H222 for left hand. Both retail at £37.98 each inc vat.
These complete rear light units are also ideal for giving kit cars the Sixties period look.
The Mk2 and 3 Lamps are available as the red and amber versions or red and amber with clear reversing lights. The assemblies include bulbs, frames and the body rubber seal.
For red and amber style order as 13H6479 for right hand and 13H6480 for left hand. Both retail at £50.40 each inc vat.
For red and amber style with clear reversing lights order as XFB101200 for right hand and XFB101210 for left hand. Both retail at £46.25 each inc vat.
Don’t be taken in by cheap imported reproductions when the real thing is so readily available at affordable prices.

M-Style is proud to announce that it is now a distributor of 3D Design high flow carbon air intake systems. The first to be released is for all BMW F2X M135i and M235i models.
The Triumph Toledo was introduced in August 1970 as a cheaper version of the Triumph 1300. Rear-wheel drive and a live rear axle (with coil springs) was used in the interest of simplicity and low production costs. Nowadays this simpler rear suspension can easily be enhanced by fitting GAZ GS dampers.
The first generation Mustang captivated the tuning world and introduced us all to the Pony Car concept; however, the ‘cart’ sprung rear end is massively outdated by modern standards. GAZ now offers GT Dampers to allow owners to adjust both the front and rear suspension to suit the conditions and driving style.
The original Citroen AX was built with lightness in mind. It weighed just 640 kg (1,411 lb) in its basic version. This could be the basis for a cheap and very tuneable track day car but the light feel is not to every driver’s taste; the solution is to firm up the suspension with some GAZ fully adjustable GT Dampers.
Early to ‘mid-noughties’ VW offer acceptable styling and good overall road performance so still make great ‘fun’ cars or dedicated track day specials to this day.
The colder the air is in an engine’s intake charge the better. Cold air is more dense than hot air and contains more oxygen molecules which makes for a better and more efficient burn which creates more horsepower.
Burton is pleased to announce that it is now a Simpson Race Exhaust dealer. Simpson Race Exhausts specialise in the design and manufacture of exceptional quality inconel and stainless steel exhaust systems and manifolds for all types of motor sport and performance applications. The first to become available is for the Escort Mk1/2 RS200 and Mexico SOHC Pinto.
Mittler Bros. have been building metal working tools and fabrication equipment in the USA for over 30 years.
Cobra Sport, AmD’s racing partner, recently introduced both valved and non valved performance exhaust options to improve the performance and sound of the latest Audi TTS Mk3.
