Mittler Bros. have been building metal working tools and fabrication equipment in the USA for over 30 years.

The Mittler Bros. 3 tonne machine manual bench press can be used as a straight press or with punch and flare sets, a corner notcher, louvre presses and with shrinker, stretcher and shearing tools.

All tooling can be mounted for front to back use or can be rotated through 90° for side to side uses.

A deep throat depth of 305mm (12”) allows generous room around the workpiece and there is 25mm clearance between the mounted tooling.

An adjustable fine-spline handle mechanism allows for quick and easy indexing of the handle.

How on earth can you utilise 1300bhp? It’s a good question and its one that was posed to BILSTEIN’s technical department by Litchfield Motors. For their ultimate expression of the R35 GTR Litchfield pushed the performance capabilities and gained 1300bhp from the Nissan engine. Designed as a test-bed for Litchfield’s new products and as a showcase for the technical ability of the UK tuning house, this GTR also features a unique BILSTEIN Clubsport suspension kit.

As far as road cars go, this one is as really quite extreme. Peering through the window reveals a stripped out cabin with an integrated roll cage, bucket seats and that familiar GTR dashboard. Walking around the car does little to hint at the power plant underneath and the BILSTEIN livery hides the carbon fibre nature of the majority of the body panels. Under the aggressively vented bonnet you will find a bespoke twin turbocharged motor, hand built by Litchfield for the purpose of exploring the outer limits of power possible from the platform. 1300bhp has been surpassed so far and naturally the gearbox and drivetrain have been upgraded to suit.

Such a high power levels bring unique challenges for suspension. Controlling squat under immense acceleration, high engine bay temperatures and extreme top speeds become particular considerations with a power plant as potent as this. BILSTEIN has developed a customised Clubsport setup for this application, giving 10 adjustment levels in both bump and rebound. Litchfield has worked closely with the UK technical centre to develop a unique adjustment range, allowing the GTR to drive comfortably across Europe at speed and then be firmed up when arriving to track events at circuits like Spa and the Nürburgring.

Surprisingly this GTR is a friendly and rewarding driving experience. Of course, when squeezing the throttle pedal everything happens extraordinarily quickly and acceleration is truly warp speed in nature. But on the other hand if you experience traffic or wander into a city centre the car will not resist. Litchfield’s engine tuning and BILSTEIN Clubsport technology work in perfect harmony in this vehicle to show that with careful planning, you really can tame 1300+bhp.

The warm summer weather brings with it the unsightly mark of dead insects spread across the once clean windscreen.
Rameder.eu, the European car accessory supplier, lists an effective Insect Remover as well as a Cleansing Concentrate for the windscreen washer, but here’s a few additional tips on how to get rid of the extremely adhesive dead insects.

Moistening a lady’s stocking helps to remove the insect spots by carefully rubbing. The finely woven fabric does not harm the paint, but removes the squashed insects. Alternatively: Wet an old bed sheet and lay it on the screen or paintwork for twenty minutes. Remove the wet sheet and use a clean rag to wipe the bugs off – that’s it.

Another insider tip: When the small hexapods stick to the number plate, spray shaving foam will help. Simply spray on and after ten minutes the insects can be wiped off.

It is easiest, however, to remove the unwanted passengers with a special insect remover for the car. No need for a lot of scratching and scrubbing, Insect Remover will even remove the most stubborn dirt, effectively and gently, from all surfaces from windows to paint and plastic.

Simply spray the insect remover on the dirty spot on the vehicle, allow to soak and wipe off. The insect strike is history, and the car is nice to look at again. In addition, the insect remover is biodegradable, and apart from insects also removes petrol or diesel residues as well as bird droppings. Powerflex has just released a new bush insert for the Porsche 997 Gen 1.

PFR57-532 GEARBOX MOUNTING BUSH INSERT fits manual gearboxes with a single bush in the end casing (excluding Turbo, GT2 & GT3 models, which use PFR57-531). Retail price: £35.94 inc. VAT.

The OE rubber mounts are designed with voiding and have comfort in mind; however, this makes them prone to softening and tearing with age. This causes excessive gearbox and engine movement, resulting in imprecise gear shifting as well as adversely impacting on the handling of the vehicle.

By filling the voids in the OE bush, the feel, handling, power delivery and the positivity of gear changes are noticeably improved.
