Mini Spares has just released a new black fibre composite head gasket specifically designed for performance use. The gasket will fit all 850/998/1100 ‘A’ Series engines, but is especially suitable for large overbores of up to 100 thou oversize and with a 2.8cc compressed volume.

This Mini Spares gasket is composed of the latest type of gasket material as also used by many high performance automotive producers.

Mini Spares recommends that the gasket is torqued down to 47-50lbs.

Mini Spares Thick Flange 1275 Cooper S Block

Mini Spares is renowned for producing parts for classic Minis that are no longer available from original manufactures. However, their latest introduction is not just a reproduction, it’s a complete redevelopment of the original Cooper S block which was made by Morris Motors Coventry.

Over seven years of research and development, hindered by Covid, has gone into this block. All of the blocks are blue printed with areas being strengthened and approximately 20% better cooling is provided by improved water jackets. The standard bore will require honing to suit the pistons being used and can only be increased to plus 60 oversize, (but many race series categories only allow plus 20 oversize).

Core plugs are supplied but not fitted. Oil release valve seating is fitted but the valve, cap and spring are not included. Camshaft bearings will be required and fitted, but holes are line-bored. Special competition steel main caps, bolts and nuts are used for race or road use but visually the block perfectly matches the original, even down to the correct casting numbers.

Webcon High-to-Low Fuel Pressure Regulator

Webcon is pleased to announce a new fuel pressure regulator for use with carburettors which will reduce high EFi fuel pressure down to low pressure. This reduction allows a more stable high pressure/high flow, EFi type, fuel pump with a swirl pot to supply a carburettor fed engine. The result is a smoother, uninterrupted fuel supply which is less affected by fuel vapour lock or centrifugal forces during cornering, acceleration or braking – all without the need for an ECU or full EFi conversion.

The WFR602 Regulator can also be used with low pressure fuel pumps and is suitable for both normally aspirated or turbocharged applications with carburettor(s).

The pressure setting is variable from 1.5psi to approx 5psi (plus boost if turbocharged).

The WFR602 Regulator can safely be used with E85 alcohol fuel.

The WFR602 Regulator retails at £76.84 plus VAT and comes complete with three 1/8” NPT connectors, mounting bracket and fixings.

Mini Spares Distributor Shield Cover for classic Minis

Winter is now just a few months away so it’s worth checking that your Mini’s electrics are protected against heavy rain, occasional deep puddles and even compacted snow. Fortunately, Mini Spares has produced a new Distributor Shield made from flexible plastic that protects the Mini’s engine electrics.

The shield comes as a complete kit (although parts are also available separately) including plastic clips, two upper brackets, lower bracket and the plastic cover itself.

Fitting is reletively simple and involves removing the gearbox to engine bolts, connecting the two upper brackets to the rocker cover retaining nuts, and the lower bracket to the gearbox and then replacing the bolts.

Burton’s Titan Dry Sump Oil Pump

Burton Power is pleased to announce a new high efficiency oil pump for classic Ford four cylinder engines with dry sump lubrication. The pump is made for Burton by Titan and is cast in high grade aluminium with an efficient gallery design to keep oil flow at a maximum.

The pump features a 1.125″ long scavenger rotor and a balanced pressure relief valve system that delivers a smooth oil flow without large fluctuations in oil pressure.

Usual fitment of the pump is within 2 metres of the tank. However, by using a larger bore feed hose the pump can even be mounted in the boot if space is limited in the engine bay.
