The Fiat 128 was a revolutionary car. It was the first front-transverse-mounted-engine, front wheel drive car to have the engine and gearbox side by side thereby eliminating the lubrication and torque steer problems found on other cars of the time.
However, that was back in 1969 and things have moved on, particularly in the field of suspension. A GAZ Gold Coilover suspension kit will introduce height and damper rate adjustability to the 128.
The kit includes suspension springs and adjustable coilovers on which the ride height can be adjusted through 60mm. The coilovers have a coarse acme form thread for ease of height adjustment and to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service.
Damping rates are variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper bodies.
The GAZ Gold range comes with a reservoir filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to reduce fade and a gas cell to prevent cavitation under harsh trackday conditions. However, the springs (included in kit) are supplied to the customer’s specifications according to the vehicle’s intended use – road and track day or out-and-out racing.
All the units are individually tested before leaving the factory. The damper bodies are now finished in the new GAZ black plated coating to shrug off dirt, dust and minor gravel debris.

Burton’s Simpson Race Exhausts for classic Ford Escort Mk1 & 2

The exhausts provide maximum performance under competition conditions. The rear silencer is a straight-through design for optimum power and is repackable for an extended service life.
The system is constructed throughout from 304 ‘aircraft grade’ stainless steel with a 1.2mm wall thickness. All joints are gas purged and TIG welded. All bends are mandrel curved for a consistent diameter throughout the bend with no flow inhibiting creases or folds.
Tube OD diameters start at 2.25”; 2.5”, 2.75” and 3” sizes are also available.
These systems are intended to be for universal use on Ford Escort Mk1/2. However some engine and manifold configurations may require modification and welding of joints and mounts may be required to fit certain applications.

The Ultimate High-Performance Estate ABT gives new RS 6 Avant a hefty 700 hp and 880 Nm

The fourth generation of the Audi RS 6 recently came onto the market. Now, with the help of a performance upgrade from ABT Sportsline, you can further enhance the already enormous power of the Avant. But first things first: Since the “Big Bang” in 2002, when the first Audi RS 6 saw the light of day, a great deal has happened, particularly in the field of driving dynamics. So, the latest edition with mild hybrid system is not only driven by a 4.0-litre V8 TFSI boasting 600 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm, but it can also perfectly conceal its weight. The abundance of high-tech in the chassis area makes it possible: such as the mechanical centre differential, or the optional rear axle sports differential together with all-wheel steering. CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt was convinced from the outset: “This provides an exemplary platform with all of the prerequisites for an ABT Power Performance Upgrade”.*

Therefore, the world’s largest tuner of Audi and VW vehicles developed a bespoke software system and utilised its high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC). The new, spectacular benchmark specification figures are 700 hp (515 kW) and 880 Nm, which, of course, are also reflected in the acceleration: Compared to the standard version, the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced from 3.6 to 3.3 seconds. The ABT Performance Upgrade comes with TÜV certification, comprehensive guarantees and a whole host of engine protection measures to provide you with remorse-free driving pleasure. Since the ABT Sportsline range is constantly expanding, the ABT Configurator keeps you right up-to-date regarding new products for the RS 6. Of particular interest are the new alloy wheels currently under development which will soon be available in a range of models.

A super-fast family Audi RS 6, RS 7, RS Q8 and RS 4 receive up to 700 hp of ABT Power

What began with the solitary Audi RS2 in 1994, and led to the first official RS 4 in 1999, has now become an entire RS family. Its youngest members include the freshly updated Audi RS 4 and the latest versions of the RS 6 and RS 7, as well as the unprecedented RS Q8. Although the stated models have only just come onto the market, appealing ABT Power Performance Upgrades* are already available for all four, and are supplied together with TÜV certification and comprehensive guarantees. In addition, a selection of aluminium wheels is available from ABT Sportsline. For additional interior options, aerodynamic components, suspension and other extras that will be available later, please consult the daily updated ABT Configurator. “I look forward to every new RS model, because the series undoubtedly represents the sporty pinnacle of the Audi range”, says CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt: “As such, I am excited to find out how much higher we can raise the bar”.

The most compact exponent of the quartet is the RS 4, the only model equipped with a 2.9-litre V6 engine. With 450 hp (331 kW) and 600 Nm, the power of the production car is more than just impressive. However, through the use of the high-tech ABT Engine Control (AEC) unit, significant increases can be achieved. A hefty 510 hp (375 kW) and a maximum torque of 660 Nm deliver real power.

Nevertheless, the Audi RS 6, RS 7 and RS Q8 already pack quite a punch from the factory: A 4.0-litre V8 TFSI with 600 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm lies in wait in their engine compartments. Even so, with the ABT Power Performance Upgrade including AEC, driving pleasure is dramatically increased to another level. The upgraded specifications for the sprightly trio are now 700 hp (515 kW) and 880 Nm. This is more than double the 315 hp (232 kW) of the legendary RS2, which founded the tradition of the sporty top models from Audi in the early 1990s. Of course, Hans-Jürgen Abt had one at the time – naturally also with a performance upgrade that put 360 hp (265 kW) on its data sheet.
