Ford’s Sixth Generation Fiesta ST was announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. When the facelifted Fiesta ST was introduced into North America for the 2014 model year it became part of Ford’s Global B-car program.
The ST’s 1.6-litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine puts out 182 PS (134 kW; 180 hp) with 177 lb⋅ft (240 N⋅m) of torque and up to 200 PS on overboost for a maximum of 15 seconds. That’s a lot of power for a small car, but there’s even more availble by changing to a Fidanza Aluminium Flywheel.

Burton’s Ford Escort Mk1/Mk2 Zetec E RWD conversion kit

Burton Power now has a basic RWD conversion kit to install a Zetec E 1.8/2.0 engine into an Escort Mk1 or Mk2 (or Escort based kit car). The kit suits both Silver Top and Black Top engines including the ST170.
THE CONVERSION KIT CONTAINS
Engine mounts to fit original crossmember – the mounts will line up with bolt holes on the Zetec block to correctly position the engine.

Alloy wet sump pan kit – the original FWD sump will not clear the crossmember. The replacement cast alloy sump with bolt in baffle is designed to allow easy fitment of the Zetec E engine to both LHD & RHD Mk1/2 Escorts. It is supplied with pickup, dipstick, dipstick tube, sump gasket and sealer and fits either Silver or Black top engines.

Water rail – the Zetec outlets will foul the bulkhead, so the water rail transfers the outlet to the front of the engine. The rail is drilled for temperature gauge sender, electric fan switch and is supplied with suitable switches as well as a fitting kit.

Steel flywheel with ring gear – for use with the larger 2.0 Pinto clutch.

Flywheel to crank bolts, flywheel to clutch dowels and clutch to flywheel bolts

Edge gear reduction starter motor – to fit the RWD offset flywheel.

Crankshaft spigot bearing – to support the end of the gearbox input shaft.

Burton’s Hepolite Pistons for Ford X/Flow OHV Kent Engine

(711M +0.110″ with deepened valve pockets)

Burton Power is now offering genuine Hepolite pistons which have been manufactured exclusively for Burton’s.

The pistons are ideal for uprated 1.6 Kent engines and have +1mm deep valve pockets; they will fit most performance camshafts including 234 and 244 without any further piston modifications.

The +.110″ size is perfect for +0.090″ blocks which are in need of a rebore without having to go to the expense of large bore forged pistons.

Compression ratio is in the region of 10.7:1 in a 1600 engine (the exact figure will depend on block height, head gasket thickness, etc). The bowl capacity is 33.77cc.The pistons are cast with invar (expansion resistant) inserts similar to the original production pistons.

Performance from M-Style

The latest project from M-Style shows that the company is more than capable of improving performance as well as styling (Unfortunately, someone is already using the name ‘M-Performance’!).

This E46 M3 is equipped with an ESS 550 supercharger kit with a smaller pulley for faster drive and a Snow Performance water/meth injection kit to provide in-cylinder cooling and anti-knock protection. The engine has also been treated to some cylinder head work and a set of Schrick uprated rocker arms. Naturally, the ECU has been remapped to suit these upgrades and the clutch and flywheel have been uprated to handle the new-found power.

Other upgrades include: a Supersprint exhaust system with an Eisenmann back box, a Brembo big brake kit, BC Racing coilovers, Ultra Racing under body braces, a KED chassis brace and power steering reservoir, Powerflex poly bushes, a CSF oil cooler, an oil catch can and a Radium fuel line.

Of course it wouldn’t be an M-Style project without some of M-Style’s signature styling touches. To this end the car features: genuine ACS wheels, a carbon splitter, a carbon rear diffuser, carbon engine bay styling as well as custom pods for the boost gauge and other additional performance monitoring instrumentation.
