Mini Spares has a Flywheel Locking Tool that bolts where the starter motor fits to secure the flywheel in place during the removal of the flywheel bolt/crank pulley etc. An assistant to hold it in place is no longer a requirement.
The tool will prevent the flywheel from turning without causing any damage at all. It’s certainly a better solution than an old screwdriver jammed in place!

The racing season has come to an end and we’re now in the build season for 2022. Thus it’s now an appropriate time to remind everyone about the GAZ GHA Coilover suspension for the Mazda MX-5 Mk1.
Gaz sponsor the MX-5 Mk1 race series and produce its Gold suspension package for the series. However, not everyone needs full race capability; with that in mind, GAZ produces the GHA kit which offers ride height and damper rate adjustability at a lower price than the Gold kit.

Owners of classic VW Beetles will know that the factory firewall ‘tar boards’ don’t offer back seat passengers much in the way of sound and heat protection from the engine.
Fortunately, DEI has just released a three-piece sound and heat insulation kit for Beetles. The kits are made from a high-temperature black polymer and a resin powder-coated textured aluminium skin with glass fibre matting. These are the same materials used in DEI’s popular Floor and Tunnel Shield kits.
They easily replace the Beetle’s heavy and fragile factory tar boards and are retained by a strong heat resistant self-adhesive backing.
The boards are CNC precision cut for a direct fit and install in exactly the same way as the original factory tar boards; no modifications are needed for the installation.
