Burton’s Water Rails for Ford Zetec E used in RWD conversions

Water rails are designed to simplify the cooling system and plumbing of the engine when installed in-line in a rear wheel drive car.

Zetec engines have water outlets at the back of the head; in most RWD applications these original outlet housings foul the bulkhead. Water rails are designed to transfer this outlet to the front of the engine thereby making the plumbing simpler and neater.

Burton offers two different water rails for the Zetec E engine. Both Water Rails are suitable for the Ford Zetec E 16v Silver Top -05/98 engine and the Ford Zetec E 16v Black Top 05/98-.

The first, from Raceline, connects to a crossflow thermostat housing which must be purchased separately: [crossflow thermostat housing FP610 at £39.95 or a specially modified housing FP610M at £81.60]. Fitting kit FZ471 at £12.50 will also be required.

The second water rail comes from Retroford. This rail incorporates a thermostat at the rear of the rail and provides a 38mm outlet on the exhaust side of the engine. ­GAZ Adjustable Dampers for classic Vauxhall Viva and Magnum

Vauxhall may have revived the Viva name but GAZ still hasn’t forgotten the original model and has an adjustable damper set for the Viva HC which also fits the high performance Magnum model (here’s hoping that Vauxhall revive that too!).

GAZ fully adjustable GT dampers enable the damping bump and rebound rate to be adjusted to suit the conditions and driving style. Adjustment can be altered by means of an easily accessible knob on the side.

Webcon Retroject Throttle Body

Converting your carburettored classic to electronic fuel injection has never been easier thanks to the new Weber Retroject Throttle Body from Webcon.

Essentially, Retroject is a dual injector throttle body designed to directly replace the Weber 32/36 DGV and 38 DGAS. The critical dimensions are identical including positioning of throttle lever and throttle rotation. Thus it will be possible to remove a Weber twin choke carb. and bolt on the Retroject, then add any aftermarket ECU and loom and a high pressure fuel supply from a Webcon WFP600. High Performance HR glossy black for many Audis and VW Touareg

When it comes to making prestige vehicles visually impressive, the alloy wheels must make a big statement. For technical reasons, any unsprung mass should be as low as possible. One elegant solution to this dilemma is provided by the up to 40 % lighter High Performance Wheels from ABT Sportsline. One of the highlights from this range is the HR flowforming rim. Exclusively in 22-inch, this is now available in a new finish: glossy black. The dark smoke variant (22/23-inch) however, continues to be part of the range. The new HR glossy black wheel is produced exclusively in the size 10.0 x 22 inches ET20, with a bolt circle of 5/112.

The innovative flowforming process used in the manufacture of the HR offers similar advantages to those of forging technology. Parts of the cast carcass are rolled out and compressed as part of an additional production stage. This facilitates particularly low wall thicknesses with high stability. New SQ7 TFSI to receive ABT aero packages and alloy wheels

The Audi SQ7 represents sportiness in a large format. The recent change from the torque-heavy diesel to the even more powerful gasoline engine has brought further increases in performance. With 507 HP (373 kW), the 2.3-tonne car is catapulted from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds – a current 911 does not achieve this any quicker. In the future, it could even be close for supercars, because ABT Sportsline is already working on a performance upgrade in the form of the ABT Engine Control (AEC) high-tech control unit.

An Audi SQ7 is not lacking in the ‘confident appearance department’. However, with regard to optimum sporting performance, the world’s largest automotive aftermarket and performance parts specialist for Audi and VW would like to add a few words. The ABT wide body aero package is therefore also available for the SQ7 with the new 4-litre TFSI engine. The set includes an aggressively designed front skirt add-on, fender extensions, door strip attachments, rear skirt add-on and an end pipe cover set. A slim body kit version without fender extensions is available, too. SQ7 owners can also order options such as ABS plastic or carbon fiber ABT rear spoiler or fender inserts.
