Gaz now offers fully adjustable GAZ  Gold suspension kits for the Vauxhall Astra Mk1, 2 & 3 and Opel Kadett and Astra B/C. The coilover front struts are both height and damper rate adjustable. Ride height is altered by means of adjustable spring seats.

The height adjusters have a coarse acme form thread for ease of adjustment and the damper units are black zinc plated to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service.

Damper rates are controlled by an adjuster knob on the damper body. The GAZ coilovers come with a gas cell in the reservoir filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to prevent cavitation and reduce fade under racing or trackday conditions.

All the units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty.

The qualities of DEI’s heat shield wrapping, rolls and tailor-made products are well known, but sometimes just a small area of heat protection is required; for instance, to protect other engine bay components from turbo heat or to prevent accidental burns from a hot exhaust.

DEI is now offering handy sized Universal Heat Shield Pads for instant heat protection precisely where it’s needed.

The pads are made from double sided high grade stainless steel with a high temperature insulation layer. The welded seams seal the insulation between the stainless steel outers making for a durable, long lasting shield. Grommet holes are provided at the corners for easy mounting.

DEI Universal Heat Shield Pads are capable of withstanding a direct heat of 2000°F. (Approx 1090°C).

The pads are extremely light weight; they block heat and protect components better than factory shields. They can be hand formed to fit bends and curves and are available in two sizes.

The Burton Power modular cover and water pump kit for the Lotus Twin Cam enables the water pump components to be easily removed without disturbing the front cover or the sump.

The water pump components are assembled into a module which can then be inserted into the front cover housing and retained with three socket cap screws. This saves a huge amount of time when replacing the water pump seals and bearing, and saves unnecessary costs in replacing oil and gaskets.

The package includes the water pump module and both front and rear covers. At the end of last year, ABT Sportsline began to supply the ABT Power* performance upgrade for the current Audi S3 with the designation 8Y – thanks to ABT Engine Control, the sporty compact delivers a hefty 370 HP (272 kW) and 450 Nm. In order to accentuate acoustically the increased power of the 2.0 TFSI, the new stainless steel ABT exhaust system was developed for the S3. It is characterised by 4-pipe end-pipes in stylish matt black with an impressive 102 mm diameter. As always, the Bavarians pay particular attention to detail and have bestowed the endpipes with the company’s logo. Enough of the visuals for now. Back to the audible impression: Thanks to the exhaust system’s sophisticated technology, driving the S3 is a more emotional experience with an enormous range of sounds. This technology can also be applied to its dynamic brother from the same stable, the CUPRA Formentor.

The world’s largest automotive aftermarket and performance parts specialist for Audi and VW also has three rim designs for the S3 in its range. The countdown to the start of the new DTM season begins with the last official and joint test days at the Lausitzring next week. ABT Sportsline will be running three Audi R8 LMS cars and, together with strong partners, has perfectly positioned itself for the next chapter in the company’s successful DTM history. The race cars of Sophia Flörsch, Kelvin van der Linde and Mike Rockenfeller will be given a striking design that will be instantly recognisable to all of the fans at the track and in front of the television.

Most striking is the appearance of automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler, which makes Sophia Flörsch’s entry possible and its colors dominate the design of the 20-year-old German’s Audi R8 LMS. “We have already celebrated many successes in Formula E with Schaeffler. That’s why I’m very pleased that they are also taking the step into the new DTM adventure together with us,” says Harry Unflath – Head of Sports Marketing at ABT Sportsline. Green, white, black and distinctive “Sophia” lettering on the roof, this livery has what it takes to be a crowd favorite.

When designing the cars, the designers took their cue from the ABT colors. Black, red and various shades of grey characterise the design of the cars driven by Mike Rockenfeller and Kelvin van der Linde. The South African has a white front and white rear-view mirrors for better differentiation, while these parts are red for Rockenfeller. “I saw my race car with its final look in person for the first time a few days ago, simply awesome, especially the matt livery,” says van der Linde.

The Mercedes GLS is the SUV spearhead of Mercedes-Benz – basically the S-Class among 4x4s. With the powerful 350 d and 400 d diesel engines in particular, it is the ideal car for long journeys. Despite its impressive dimensions and a weight of around 2.5 tons, the substantial torque even elicits a feeling of sportiness during acceleration. And Sportservice Lorinser is now augmenting this even further. With its innovative PowerModules, the German tuner adds substantially more power to either engine at a price of 1,499 euros. The software is carefully adapted to the parameters of the respective engine. With this additional support under its wings, the 350 d engine goes from 286 HP (210 kW) and 600 Nm to 319 HP (235 kW) and 690 Nm. For the bigger 400 d version, the standard 330 HP (243 kW) and 700 Nm are upped to 364 HP (268 kW) and 773 Nm.

Independently of the engine, there are also some visual extras available for adding to the Mercedes GLS. With their five mighty main spokes, framed by athletic side bars, the muscular 22-inch Lorinser RS 9 wheels seem to be made for this car. The deep-set hub area with the prominent grooves completes the distinctive character of the alloy wheel. Another style feature of the RS 9 are the large triangular openings which allow subtle views of the brakes on the GLS while lending a touch of lightness and elegance to the sizable car.
