Mini Spares has just announced an exact replica Cooper S Right Hand Tank made from brand new tooling. The new tank is faithful to the original shape and dimensions making it a perfect fit; unlike other tanks on the market it uses the original holes. Also, there are none of the unsightly ‘stretch’ marks that can be seen on tanks available from less precise manufacturers.

With a large number of VW Golf MkIVs now being used as dedicated track day cars GAZ has added a Golf IV/Audi TT Mk1 application to its rapidly growing range of alloy top mounts.
The top mounts will firm up the suspension strut’s location points which will improve handling on trackday and competition cars whilst allowing the camber to be adjusted for optimum suspension geometery.
These CNC machined alloy billet top mounts come complete with stainless steel bolts and a ready fitted centre bearing in the sliding plate.
GAZ top mounts are ideal for racing and dedicated track day cars but would probably be too harsh for cars used daily on the road.

The four cylinder Porsche 912 was produced between 1965 and 1969 as the entry-level model and became one of the most famous and successful sports cars of all time. The Targa version (Porsche’s patented variation of a cabriolet) ran from December 1966 (Series A) and was upgraded to a hard window Targa in 1968 (Series B). Whilst it may have been entry level it is still an exciting and desirable car today. GAZ now offer GT fully adjustable rear dampers for both versions to help bring its handling up to date.
GAZ fully adjustable GT dampers enable the damping bump and rebound rate to be adjusted to suit the conditions and driving style. The dampers have adjustable damping rates which can be altered by means of an easily accessible knob on the side of the units.

The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured between 1948 and 1954. Suspension technology has inevitably moved on since those days and GAZ now offers a modern bump and rebound adjustable damper to enhance the torsion bar front suspension of the XK120.

The third and final incarnation of the Cavalier was a big improvement on its predecessors (and most earlier Vauxhalls) in terms of durability; the rust problems that had plagued Vauxhall for years were finally being conquered. The rust problem may have been solved but any Cavaliers that survive today will probably be in need of new dampers. If you are looking for improved performance from your Toyota or Lotus then a Fidanza lightweight flywheel is the way to go. An aluminum flywheel is the easiest and most ecomomical way to increase a car’s performance. The Fidanza 130131 aluminum flywheel weighs less than half the weight of the equivalent factory steel flywheel. This weight difference allows a vehicle’s engine to use much more of its available horse power.
Fidanza Flywheels are made from aircraft quality 6061 T6 aluminum with a 1050 high carbon alloy steel friction plate and a heat treated ring gear.
The friction plate is replaceable so there is no need to replace the entire flywheel when the friction surface is at the end of it’s service life, thus saving time and money

If you work with engines then sooner or later you’ll probably burn yourself on a hot exhaust and, when you do, it will spoil your day.
Heat protection specialist DEI has now introduced a couple of stainless steel heat shields to offer a bit more protection against accidental burns.
The shields are made from durable 304 stainless steel and preformed with a curved shape to fit most sizes of pipe. The shields feature two layers of stainless steel encapsulating a layer of high temperature insulation, that has a direct temperature rating of up to 2000°F (approx. 1093°C).
Half inch (1.27cm) high standoffs provide an air gap between the pipe and the shield which makes mounting easy. Stainless steel clamps are included. The air gap also provides a ventilating area that helps cool the hot pipe.
The light weight shields also feature welded seams for strength and durability and have been shown to block heat and protect components better than most original equipment shields.
The shields have a place on almost anything that has a hot exhaust pipe, be it a car, truck, motorcycle, ATV or even an agricultural vehicle or static engine. However one of the most obvious uses is a classic or kit car where the exhaust passes in close proximity to the passenger compartment.

Burton Power is pleased to announce it can now offer Ford Type 9 Five Speed Gearboxes (also referred to as a ‘Type N’ gearbox in some workshop manuals) with either original gear ratios or a 2.98:1 ‘long’ first gear.
The complete gearboxes have been reconditioned to Ford O.E. Standards with either 3.65/1.97/1.37/1:1/0.82 gear ratios or a ‘long’ first gear using the GBT9200 conversion kit. This partial gear kit is designed to lower the ratio of first gear from a short 3.65:1 to a much more useable 2.98:1. The upgrade includes a brand new mainshaft first gear and a used layshaft cluster that has been modified to work with the new first gear. The remaining gears are as original. The gear ratios are: 2.98/1.97/1.37/1:1/0.82.
