For the early (pre 1990) models with solid bolt-on rubber exhaust mountings order part number MS45D at £228.00 inc VAT.

For 1990 on cars that have hanger rods and rubber hoops for exhausts order part number MS45LATE which also retails at £228.00 inc. VAT.

The MS45LATE subframe also has strengthening straps and a bottoming out plug for the cone springs seats (as featured on the MPI model) making it a very useful upgrade – especially for cars with larger wheels.

Mini Spares Suspension Knuckle Joint with Uprated Poly Boot Gaitor

In 1984 12″ wheels became standard on the Mini and this necessitated changes to several small details. One change was to include a thick washer under the knuckle joint (21A1845). This raised the suspension a little in order to gain wheel clearance and suspension travel. Another change to gain wheel clearance was the insertion of packing behind the teardrop mounts. In 1990 Rover introduced a front knuckle joint that had this spacer already built in. This made assembly faster and also prevented mechanics losing the spacer when repairing the front suspension and completely messing up Mini ride heights when they failed to notice that one side was lower than the other!

If the car’s suspension has suddenly dropped, or there is a loud squeeking noise during suspension movement, then the knuckles are one of the first things to be checked. If left unchecked, the knuckle can wear through the nylon cup into the suspension arm thereby ruining the casting that supports the knuckle joint. Unfortunately, there are many copies of this vital part on the spares market and many have been reverse engineered using inferior techniques and materials. They tend not to last very long!

Mini Spares now offers British made round metal knuckle joints that are produced to the original drawings and manufactured from the correct EN24T material. The pin and cup shape are also faithful to the genuine original joint, but additional protection is provided by an upgraded poly boot gaitor.

The Mini Spares Front Knuckle Joint is suitable for later cars (1990 onwards) that had a built-in spacer for extra ride height clearance at the front and can be ordered as part number GSV1264EVO at £8.10 including VAT – much cheaper than changing the suspension arms!

Mini Spares Engine Block Upgrade Gasket Set for all classic Mini engines

If you are rebuilding or modifying a Mini (or other A Series) engine be aware that some, so called, ‘genuine Rover gasket sets’ can be poor in quality or have incorrect parts.

The problem was so significant that Mini Spares decided to put together its own correct gasket set. The original Payen gaskets served as a template, but modern KLINGER super gasket material (as used on some parts of the MPI twin point injection engines) was used.

This dual-fit multi-piece selection of KLINGER upgraded engine block gaskets will fit any early or A-Plus engine. It is suitable for road or race and will boost the longevity of your classic Mini.

The kit includes two rubber tappet chest cover seals (as fitted to some Minis from 1966).

GAZ Gold Suspension Kit for Volvo 240

Despite its non-sporting image, the Volvo 240 was a successful competitor in touring car racing in the 1980s. Considering the size of the car, handling was also quite good thanks to the MacPherson strut-type front suspension. Of course, having front struts makes this a prime candidate for conversion to GAZ Gold fully adjustable struts, that will upgrade it to adjustable ride height as well as providing variable bump/rebound settings.

The GAZ Gold kit upgrades the original donor struts to adjustable coilovers on which the ride height can be adjusted through 60mm. The coilovers have a coarse acme form thread for ease of height adjustment and to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service. Damping rates are variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper bodies.

Each coilover comes with a reservoir filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to reduce fade and a gas cell to prevent cavitation under harsh racing and trackday conditions. The GAZ Gold range is designed primarily for out-and-out racing; however, springs (included in kit) are supplied to the customer’s specifications according to the vehicle’s intended use – road, road and track or out-and-out race/track day.

All the units are individually tested before leaving the factory. The damper bodies are now finished in the new GAZ black plated coating to shrug off dirt, dust and minor gravel debris.

GAZ GHA Coilover Suspension for VW Golf Mk4 4motion

The VW Golf Mk4 4motion obviously has good traction arising from four wheel drive and a Haldex Traction clutch system. However, the GAZ GHA coilover suspension kit can now improve the handling and ride to match the traction.
