The Porsche 911 is probably one of the longest running nameplates of any car, and over the years the 911 has gone through many developments and improvements.

One improvement that GAZ can offer older 911s is adjustable coilover suspension to lower the centre of gravity and adjust the bump/rebound of the damping.

The kit includes adjustable coilovers on which the ride height can be adjusted through 60mm. The height adjusters have a coarse acme form thread for ease of adjustment and to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service.

Damping rates are variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper bodies. The GAZ Gold range is designed primarily for out-and-out racing so each comes with a gas cell in the reservoir filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to prevent cavitation and reduce fade under harsh racing and trackday conditions. Springs can be supplied to the customer’s specifications according to the vehicle’s intended use.

Although the MGC received a special torsion bar suspension when the original MGB design was altered to receive the BMC ‘C Series’ six cylinder engine the MGC was never a great handler. In an effort to improve matters many were converted to tubular dampers and GAZ can offer an upgrade for those cars with a conversion kit.

The Mercedes 190E has now achieved ‘classic’ status and despite being designed in the late Seventies/early Eighties is still a comfortable long distance cruising car. However, for ‘spirited’ driving there is room for improvement in the suspension department as noted by Mercedes themselves when they added adjustable rear suspension to the 16 valve Evolution version of the 190.
