When the Triumph Stag was new purchasers had the option of choosing uprated dampers, made by an outside company. So, even then, the manufacturers knew that improvements were possible and desirable. (In fact there were a lot of parts on the car where improvements were possible and desirable – but that’s another story!).
The car’s reliability problems hampered sales and the car never achieved the numbers envisaged. However, if you have managed to lay your hands on a surviving Stag at least you can bring the suspension up to scratch as GAZ are now offering adjustable, uprated dampers made to an even higher specification than the original optional versions.
The GAZ dampers offer on-the-car adjustable rebound at the front and on-the-car adjustable bump and rebound at the rear.
Various fixed bump rates are available for the front depending on whether the vehicle is to be used on the road or in competition.
The GAZ dampers feature a protective zinc plated body, all units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty.
Front damper inserts are available as part number GAI-2334 at £92.19 each and rear dampers are part number GT4-2113, retailing at £60.67 plus VAT each.
