Fitting a quick shift gear stick to your car is a quick and easy modification that; doing so really improves the feel and speed of gear changes due to the shorter and more direct throw. Up until now the only complete quick shifts on the market have all contained steel spherical bearings. Whilst these are perfect for competition use at certain RPMs the steel bearings will start to vibrate and rattle which can be painful on long journeys. To solve this vibration problem whilst retaining the positive and direct gear change, a complete redesign of the quick shift was needed to replace the steel bearings with a high vibration dampening nylon spherical bearing. This quick shift should be used in conjunction with an original Ford type plastic gear selector saddle rather than the competition phosphor bronze type. Other features include:

With the ever increasing ethanol content in modern fuels, which causes higher engine bay temperatures, heat soak is becoming more of an issue, especially for down draft carburettors such as the Weber IDA and IDF.
Traditionally, the use of 5mm insulators has been enough to prevent significant heat transfer. However, in a number of installations this is no longer sufficient and so Webcon has now developed a range of 10mm insulators to suit these models of carburettor.

Some early Minis have ‘Hydrolastic’ or ‘wet’ suspensions. This means that they ride on four bags filled with pressurised fluid akin to antifreeze. As the systems age they are prone to lose pressure and so require pumping up. Nowadays your neighbourhood garage might no longer be equipped to do this! Now Burton has made it easier than ever to fit front vented discs to a Ford Capri, Cortina or M1/2 Escort. (The conversion will also fit the German Ford Taunus TC Mk 1, 2 & 3.)
