Over the years alloy parts in an engine’s cooling system – particularly the thermostat housing – tend to corrode leading to unsightly green oxidation and eventually, coolant leaks.
Fortunately Mini Spares can offer a direct-fit replacement thermostat housing for early Minis and the Morris Minor. The Mini Spares part comes complete with a threaded take-off to fit a temperature sensor or electric fan controller, (just like the housing originally fitted to deluxe versions of the 850/998 Mini until 1968 that came with a temperature gauge).
This alloy thermostat housing can be ordered as part number 12A408 at £54.00 inc. VAT.
If the take-off is not required at the moment it can be blanked off with a Blanking Plug (ADP210 at £4.79 inc. VAT) and washer (1B3664 at 30p inc. VAT) both available from Mini Spares.
