Moss Europe RetroSound DAB Radio* for classic cars

It’s now unusual to find a new car that isn’t equipped with DAB digital radio. DAB makes more radio stations available and suffers from less interference from other broadcasts than FM, AM and long wave radio. But what about classic cars? Moss Europe is pleased to announce that it can now offer modern DAB digital radio in a period correct classic style head unit that utilises either the existing aerial with an adaptor or the latest hidden amplified aerial which requires no drilling of the classic car’s wing or roof.

The RetroSound San Diego head unit maintains the original ‘twin knob’ (DIN-D) style mounting required for many classic cars but brings you modern entertainment in the form of DAB/DAB+ digital radio along with an AM/FM Tuner. It is iPod/iPhone and Android compatible as well as providing a Bluetooth connection, two rear USB ports and two rear auxiliary inputs.

RetroSound’s versatile “InfiniMount” adjustable shaft/bracket system (patent pending) allows the installation to match the layout of the car’s fascia, or be fitted to an existing DIN-D aperture. The brackets allow for multiple positions of the control knobs.

The San Diego will receive DAB signals through the existing aerial using the Retrosound DAB Antenna Adaptor. It has a DAB antenna output that plugs into the DAB input on the radio, as well as a standard antenna output for AM/FM stations. Alternatively, Moss offers the RetroSound Hide-Away Amplified Aerial. As this aerial uses active magnetic field circuitry for enhanced radio reception, it can be mounted behind your dash, inside the boot or almost anywhere hidden away inside your car.
