The factory suspension of the Mazda RX-8 drew favourable comments right from the launch of the model, however some special edition models came already fitted with aftermarket performance dampers indicating official acknowledgment that there was potential for improvement of the factory suspension.
Now owners of regular RX-8 models can benefit from performance suspension thanks to GAZ adjustable coilovers. The fully adjustable coilovers will lower the centre of gravity and adjust the bump/rebound of the damping.
The ride height can be adjusted by means of threaded spring platforms that have a coarse acme form thread for ease of adjustment and to ensure that they remain in good order even after considerable service.
Damping rates are variable by means of an adjuster knob on the damper bodies. Springs can also be supplied to the customer’s specifications according to the vehicle’s intended use.
All the units are individually tested before leaving the factory and are covered by a two year warranty.
The GAZ front coilovers for the RX-8 will also fit the Mazda MX-5 Mk3 and can be ordered as part number GP8 5092. Retail price £159.53 plus vat. GAZ rear dampers are also available.
