As standard, the RX-7 (FB type) had excellent handling characteristics – a great front/rear balance and a low centre of gravity. You might think there’s not much left to improve, but GAZ is always one for a challenge, so has now produced a fully adjustable coilover suspension upgrade for the RX-7 (FB type) that will allow drivers to tailor the settings to suit their driving style and use.
The GAZ coilover conversion is suitable for serious track or competition vehicles although it can also be used on street cars if you are prepared to trade excellent handling for a harder ride.
The damper rate is adjustable and can be adjusted whilst on the vehicle by means of easily accessible knobs.
Ride height is adjustable through 60mm of adjustment and the units are individually tested before leaving the factory and covered by a two year warranty.
The kit consists of front and rear dampers and springs. The customer needs to supply donor front struts as GAZ refurbish and machine the lower cast stub axle and incorporate it in the new front struts. The kit retails at £752.86 + carriage & VAT.
