Mini Spares is pleased to announce that a suitable flat top brake master cylinder for the pre ‘65 Cooper S is available again.
Originally, the top of this ‘tin tank’ master cylinder would have had either a removable union or a small hexagonal nut shape machined into it. As neither of these options are now available the pipe goes directly into the flat top as normal, but the outlet is period correct.
This early version differs from the later master cylinder which was more pointed where the brake pipe comes out.
This master cylinder also provides slightly more capacity as it features a 3″ high canister as opposed to standard Mini’s cylinder which was 2.3/8″ high.
