The Triumph Toledo was introduced in August 1970 as a cheaper version of the Triumph 1300. Rear-wheel drive and a live rear axle (with coil springs) was used in the interest of simplicity and low production costs. Nowadays this simpler rear suspension can easily be enhanced by fitting GAZ GS dampers.
The original springs can be used but owners have the option of choosing different spring lengths to alter the ride height and can adjust the damping rate to suit the conditions and driving style.
The GAZ fully adjustable GS dampers enable the damping bump and rebound rate to be adjusted by means of an easily accessible knob on the side.
