DEI Gearbox Cover Heat Shield Kit for Triumph TR5 and TR6

DEI Gearbox Cover Heat Shield Kit for Triumph TR5 and TR6

Most Triumph sports car owners confine their car’s use to warm summer days. Unfortunately that’s when heat transfer from the gearbox and exhaust to the interior is most noticeable and uncomfortable, particularly if there are missing or worn out floor grommets, or a damaged or worn out gearbox cover.

DEI, the aftermarket leader for heat and sound control products, now offers a Gearbox Cover Heat Shield Kit for the Triumph TR5, TR6 and the US market TR250 (a TR5 with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburettors instead of the Lucas fuel injection system to conform with tighter emission regulations). The kit greatly reduces the transfer of heat for a more comfortable ride and requires no special tools for installation.

DEI’s innovative Gearbox Heat Shield Kit greatly reduces heat transfer from the gearbox and up through the gear-lever boot cover. It is manufactured from a high-heat resistant material which is rated to handle direct heat up to 955°C (1750°F). It is only 4.76mm (3/16”) thick and is sold in a convenient kit with everything needed for installation.

This low profile, CNC cut, adhesive backed shield consists of seven individual custom-cut pieces and can be ordered as part # 010882. The kit comes complete with two packets of adhesion promoter, one roll of 38mm x 4.57 metre (1-1/2” x 15’) heat reflective sealing tape to cover seams, installation instructions and protective gloves.
Retail price is US$163.74 plus tax and delivery.
